Tom Sawyer

Powerful version:

"I turned my collar to the cold and damp ...
"And no one dared, Disturb the sound of silence, ...

"Fools", said I, "You do not know, Silence like a cancer grows, Hear my words that I might teach you, Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell ...

" ... people bowed and prayed, To the neon god they made ...
:'( <3

Wow, nice...
They made it their own. I was not familiar with the band Disturbed.

Nor was I.
A friend of mine posted elsewhere: "Wow, I didn't know he could actually sing -- have only ever heard him scream. That was nice. <3 "

Ya dang whippersnapper, General Admission at shows in the 70's makes ya'lls scene look like a church service.

They've been around for almost 20 years, now.  And have been relatively-famous since 2000.  Plenty of "old folks" are familiar with Disturbed.  Generally, whether or not someone is familiar with them will have more to do with that individual's taste in music than that individual's age.

That kid is a better drummer than a heck of a lot of adults.  Check out her channel.  She rocks some Metallica and other hard rock, as well.

Oh yeah! Great times. I've got just a few stories... :)

Went with a date to one.  She was a tough lacrosse player.
We sat comfortably in the balcony of the old Boston Garden and enjoyed the opening act, Fleetwood Mac, which was my choice.
She wanted to "get to the front" for the next band. I thought it looked too crazy. She said something like, "Don't worry, I'll lead the way." :)
Did I mention she is a tough lacrosse player? <3 Yeah, we went "up front." ...

They recognize that war is a big business, not something done to help the people, and that the media works hand-in-hand with the warmongers to make it happen by brainwashing the mases.  They also recognize that resistance is necessary - it's not a problem that will fix itself, or be fixed by the government.  They choose to create an image of that resistance coming from an avenging angel, which is where we differ on the path we take.  But they're facing in the right direction (ie, away from war), so that's a start; those who face war see only the paths that lead to war.  Some percentage of their fans will turn to face that same direction, but will look more closely at the paths that lead that way, and choose the peaceful one.

RUSH is very popular in Brazil. The song Tom Sawyer is used for the theme music to the TV show McGyver there.

The DVD RUSH in Rio was pretty cool to see 40,000 people singing along to all their songs. RUSH didn't even know how popular they were there.

Found this song on a CD called, "The Passion of The Christ: Songs Inspired By" - by Various Artists.
Other good stuff on that LP as well. :) Peace be with... <3
