The Libertarian Party has nominated Bob Barr and you might wonder why that is good news (to some of us).

First of all, the fact that I am just now finding this out (more than week after it happened  ;D) might say something about what has happened. Several years ago I would have known about this sort of thing almost as soon as it happened.

Any guesses why it's good news?  ;)

Because the principled people in the LP will realize that the LP is dead and rotting and join the FSP for a actual possibility at liberty in our lifetime. Just my guess

I'll second this.

Because now that the LP's candidates are less libertarian than some of the Republicans, LP members interested in politics will move to the FSP and work in the real parties?

Giggan

Cause a not-so-good LP candidate means people are more likely to write-in RP?

Seconded. Why waste time in a third party that people rarely pay attention to, where, before you can even do anything useful, you have to expend an enormous amount of money and effort fighting an uphill battle just to get on the ballots and in front of the media?

If the Republicans are so interested in us that they want to take over the LP, why don; we pull the old switcheroo and take over the G.O.P. at the local level? Ron Paul revolutionaries, anyone?

Bob who?
Oh that's right, I started the thread and I'm supposed to remember.

I spoke to my oldest daughter yesterday ... She asked (in retrospect) if most Libertarians  :-[ are as bad as this ...

I've been predicting that the Libertarian Party is so thoroughly watered down that within 12 to 24 years the LP will be fully welcomed into that Fascist FedGov club - including debates/primaries/etc. etc. etc.
