I'm with Friday, Puke, and Porcupine: hot/humid weather sucks, and I prefer the winters.  By far.

Same here, I'll take cold over hot any day. It's easy to put on an extra layer or two, but staying cool can often prove more difficult.

;D  Reminds me of the nice gal who works over at the thrift store.  When, in early Spring, I commented that many folks had instantly gone from complaining about the snow to complaining about the rain, she said, "Yes. People generally don't like precipitation."  :o  ;D   :clapping:

Puke

One thing to be glad of is that it doesn't last long.

It's kind of cliche here in New England that if you don't like the weather, just wait a minute.
This to will change.

Coconut

a shower + a fan + a bathrobe  and summer is a breeze. I don't even need AC anymore. It's far better than waking up in the mornings cold.

Or as I say, "When it's cold, you can always do something to warm up. When it's hot, you're just hot."

I know it can get hot in NH... for about an hour in the afternoon. And then the sun goes down, and the evening breezes blow. Hot is when you can't sleep at 2 a.m. because it's still 90 degrees and 85% humidity.

In 1990, IIRC, we went 14 straight days here when the temperature never dropped below 100F. I don't mean the daily highs were above 100, I mean the lows never got below 100, even at night!

I am very eager to trade Texas summers for NH winters, and I promise to never ever complain of being "hot" in NH.

I'm experiencing a new phenomenon out here. A heat index that is lower than the actual temperature. 90 degrees feels like 85. Literally, I'll feel like it's a nice, pleasant day, only to find out that the temperature was over 90. I'm not used to that. Midwest summers are like, "It's 92 degrees out, with a heat index of 106."

It was too warm and wet yesterday .... we are just not used to it yet. I love summer in NH ... it doesn't get that hot too often.  :fishing:
