Waddaya mean, it never "got" anywhere?  It revealed that the U.S. government has been in cahoots with evil aliens for decades, among other nefarious schemes.

"Revealed"? I thought this was common knowledge about the real government? :P

I overheard Gillian Anderson on a talk show, discussing all the backstory she had to study up on. She didn't even remember that Scully had a baby on the series.

That's certainly not a good way to endear yourself to the fans.

The interviewer should have asked her if she even remembered that she was on a show called The X-Files.

I think this is why some shows try to end while they're still reasonably strong. X-Files was fantastic for a few years and then fizzled. Now it's just not that memorable. I won't be seeing this in the theaters. Maybe a Netflix. *shrug*

Well its memorable for me, just the last few seasons I heard stunk like a skunk. I don't know because I was never a regular watcher of the program, I tended to catch re-runs. I love the show in the first five seasons and I loved the first movie, I thought it was really well done.
