i visited manchester this spring for a few weeks to get the lay of the land and fell in love with it. it's very similar to where i live now near detroit except the residents don't walk around with chips on their shoulders.

you freestaters are having too much fun for me to not be a part of what you're trying to accomplish. i have some loose ends to tie up here in michigan but have set a deadline for myself to be back in manchester by october 1st and will be leaving my government issued papers behind.

at 34, i've been quite politically active/observant for many years but lately i just don't see the point and had to do some serious soul-searching within myself. i came up with this question: why consent to being governed?

in thinking about how i can help the free state project i'll always be one of the first to volunteer for events because of my flexible schedule. i've never been much of a protester, but i'll show up to support someone's  court event or illegal puppet show (nice :)). i'm pretty big on jury-nullification too. local currency may be something i could pursue as well. i should also mention i don't have a problem getting arrested for civil disobedience as long as someone gets it on video.

i will drive without papers, i will refuse to show id for no valid reason, i will not use a socialist security number, might have some issues with open carry but would like to be married in front of city hall with a big sign that says "i don't need your permission to express my love nor should i be taxed for it" (girlfriend will be moving here next spring)

i've been lurking around the forum as a guest for a few months now but figured it was time to make my first post and introduce myself. i've read a lot of your posts and watched a lot of youtube vids (especially of you folks going to court in keene). when i responded to a comment lauren made on a post and called her by her first name i realized that might come off a little awkward to someone who doesn't know me.

so here i am, mike from mount clemens, michigan. i look forward to helping make new hampshire the free state we all want it to be.

Hi bigmike. It's cool to see another Metro Detroiter here. I'm currently staying in Grosse Pointe Woods.

Pat McCotter

Welcome!

I was born in Detroit Osteopathic. Also, I lived in Redford Township for a couple years when I was 8-9.

And I visited Detroit for 2 days in 1987 . I can tell you, Manchester is just like
Detroit - we have an airport, Holiday Inn and McDonalds.

Welcome !

Welcome bigmike, I'm from the metro area myself (western Wayne co.). However, Detroit does seem a little different from Manch to me. Detroit's mayor is an unabashed gangster and has lost like half its people in the last 10 years. I will also say that The 'D' has a lot more hoodlums as well. On a different note, are either of you (Mike, Brandon) going to the Rally for the Republic?

i've been unable to respond to your comments but here goes:

thanx ron. see you soon.

brandon are you headed to the free state? i'll be in mount clemens for a few weeks if you wanna grab a beer sometime.

pat i doubt you'd recognize redford twp anymore. thanx for the welcome.

rebel yes there is a HUGE difference between manchester and the d. i'm actually from mt. clemens which seems more like manchester if you added a little royal oak.

russell i love the videos. can't wait to help take things up a level.

see you all soon.
