Have Margot give me a call : )

I wll re-build Her the most beautifull, applicable, usable, 'Margot-idea-for-best-usage', structually sound deck for the duration!!!

I'm sure She has Clients that are Builders/Carpenters and has a new one on the way!

It would be nice for Her to tell Folks that some of Her Sovereign Friends and Customers
re-built it though : )  Just another way to spread freedom!

Glad there was not Anyone hurt!

KBCraig

Eagle, what materials do you favor? Do you work with Trex or any of the other synthetic/recycled products? Care to offer an opinion on the various material options, and surface treatments for wood?

Kevin

The party was terrific. Great hosts, and great guests.

I told Margot that we could do a "Witness"-esque porch-raising! Glad it wasn't too much of a problem for them, and that they were planning on expanding the deck anyway!

Tis good to have such nice people in one's life. Thanks to the hosts for such a good time!

:D

Editing...before I head out...Hey, I thought Margot's was a restaurant You frequented...I think, from doing more reading, this deck matter occured at Margot Keyes' home...sorry for the misunderstanding...I'll check back later!

Hi Kevin,

I built a trex brasilia (cayenne) deck on the home of Friends of mine, that happen to own a restaurant, this summer (on the side) myself. Just completed it last week ...rails, hardware, etc. I had put a link up of pictures the owner had taken during construction and also a picture of a high end home I had built in SC that was on the market and pictures happened to be on the internet. This post was a reply to Rhelwig asking me "What I do?".

Trex Brasilia (the newer top of line trex) is about 3 times the cost of treated 5/4 decking.
Pressure treated would be just fine for Margot, unless she chose to spend the money on
trex or similar material because it is virtually maintainence free. If Margot has not secured
Someone local to do it I would be glad to give an estimate once I knew exactly what She
wants and needs. We'll give Her a 'freedom discount' too, HaHa : )

I have to head out and meet with My Daughter in a bit. But I will check back in later.

Correct..."Margot's Place" is the residence were the "Keyes Clan" reside!

They have a rather neighborly habit of opening there home up to the
folks from time to time. :)

Margot Keyes

;DYes...yes...Please don't anyone sue me!! We really were planning to rebuild the deck and redesign something more party friendly than a rectangle off the NEW sliding glass door, BUT WE DID NOT PLAN TO DO IT SO SOON!! So now we have a nice new slider, a new grill, sandbox and garden to add to the trampoline and pool AND WE HAVE TO USE THE FRONT DOOR.... ugh..  :)

I thank the angels that no one was hurt. I was mortified and embarrassed... and then I laughed my butt off - it should have been on America's Funniest Home Videos!! Just something so WOW!, that was not planned.  Oh well, please don't let that stop anyone from coming anymore!  :D

Oh- And we prefer the term Keyes Krew, to clan.  ;D

Yes, we do plan to redo the deck with Trex, or Vanguard or one of those non-wood maintenance-free wood-fiber composites. Also, we are probably going to go with a deck more on the ground with steps leading UP to a landing by the glass door.  I will take note to include anyone who wants to really work on it (and pay accordingly and not just with beer!), but probably no more parties until we situate the matter.

OK- enough about the deck!

Alex Hunter and the whole Gerry Montgomery Family were so happy to have 30+ people there to meet them and chat until (YES!) almost 3:00 AM!!!  I need to stop these 8 hour parties....the next day with the kiddos at the beach was slow-going for this mom of four...
The visitors called me and wished that everywhere had such nice folks to greet them - so I think NH is the way they will go. We hope!!
Thanks for so many great folks to come over- I know it was short notice and just after the 'fest. I really appreciate it. If anyone left a bowl (McGuires??) or a soft cooler- please ring me up and claim them. 603-736-8877.  Hopefully I can return both at Dan McGuire's Birthday Party at the Fisher Cats Game!

Thanks again for a great time folks - it just reminds me of how happy WE are to have moved here six months ago!!  Those who didn't make it, we missed you and hope to see you soon!

Hugs-
Margot (and Bradley, Tessa, Lexi, Molly and April...and the three cats! Max, Jasper and Sophie!!)

Margot, when folks say we need more people "on the ground" in NH,they're not talking about collapsing decks.  ;)

Russell Kanning

Lloyd Danforth

A little bubble gum and some bailing wire and we can fix that!
