SALEM (AP) -- A sausage vendor has given two Salem boys trying to make a buck selling lemonade a lesson in cutthroat business techniques.

Police shut down the lemonade stand on Salem Common after the sausage man complained that the boys didn't have a permit and were taking customers away from him.

Lieutenant Scott Englehart says police had no choice but to enforce the rules. But he says it's "ridiculous that little kids can't sell lemonade."

Jarrod Clowery is the sausage man. He says he regrets ever calling police because now all he gets are icy stares from people around town who heard about the story.

Nine-year-old Dominic Serino says after he and eleven-year-old Ryan Decker were thrown off the Common, they relocated to a spot near Serino's home. But their business dropped off.

Believe the Mayor got the boys "licensed" as sub-contractors under the sausage guy.? The guy has been threatened and regrets ever having had made the initial call.?

Sausage guys says the boys should make more than the $130 they made last summer.

Thanks Mayor, now the boy's parent's bank accounts will be seized when they forget to file quarterly income taxes.

I hear that sentiment went over like a lead balloon at Nuremberg. They always have a choice...they can resign!

We talked about this automaton cop and the scumbag vendor last night:

It sounds like this guy suffers from Acute Severe Victim Mentality Disorder (ASVMD).? ;)

He was so self-traumatized and self-victimized at his own inability to outcompete children that his only option was to whine to the authorities, thus actually victimizing the children.   ::)

Now he's playing the victim yet again because people are glaring at him for playing the victim in the first place.

Unfortunately, I'm sure there's a lawyer somewhere willing to help this man sue everyone that glares at him for "mental anguish".? ?;D

I sure hope that either the vendor no longer has to pay to sell there or the kids have to pay :)

This requires an LTE.

And you think Licensing is a good thing?

Let all go open up Lemonade stands and see if they shut us down.

Have a line of about 10 of us all right in a row.

Better, have some young porcs do it.

I beleive the price tag for a vendors permit is $2,200.

Easily attainable by your average 11 year old, why did I get so worked up?   ::)
