WHAT YOU GET WHEN YOU BUY A RIDLEY REPORT AD: 1) I build an ad and a "blip" for you. Generally the blip airs at the start of the vid, the full ad at the end.
2) I
link to your URL at the beginning of my video descrip.
3) Ad keeps running 'till it gets the views you paid for.
4) If it gets more views than you agreed to pay for...the extras are free.
PRICES
Until further notice orders initiated
after Jan. 15, 2012 run 1.5 cents per hit....
Runs of $100 or more have a discount of roughly 30 percent; they cost only 1 cent per hit. In other words 100 bucks gets you 10,000 views on your ad.
Unexpected extra hits are free. Hits that occur on your ad after that video's first week on the air are free. So you can't "accidentally" get committed to charges beyond what you agreed to.
Example: Say you buy a
$100 ad run (with the discount, that costs you 1 cent a hit. So I owe you
10,000 first-week hits on your ad during that run . Say your ad airs five times. The first four airings each get 1,000 views during their first week on the air; the fifth airing gets 7,000. That's a total of 11,000 first-week hits even though I only owed you 10,000. That means I overshot the total by 1,000. Those 1,000 views become a sort of free bonus for you, *if* I overshoot. This doesn't happen every time of course, but it's nice when it does. The run then completes, but of course you keep getting free hits for as long as the video's up. Years, usually.
Sometimes I make live ads quick & dirty in the field. These will sometimes be missing some element like your written URL. These and ads with known errors will be discounted, usually half price.
Most folks order a set dollar amount worth of ads. The
most common purchase is $100 or alternate-currency equivalent.CAVEATS
The quality of the ad, and the number of versions, is proportionate to your expenditure. The less expensive your ad run, the less time I'll put into the ad and the less chance I can make a second version of it. I'm not usually able to check the number of hits at precisely the one-week mark, so estimating is often required. It will benefit you sometimes, me sometimes. Fortunately, most YouTube hits tend to occur during the first few days so it's easy to achieve accurate estimates. Usually about a month after the run completes I will have all my raw stats collected on your run and can send them to you...but an ad run of $100, for instance, will normally take months to complete. This tends to broaden the impact of each dollar spend, but you can always ask me to run you more frequently than usual.
QUESTIONS FOR ADVERTISERS
What do you want to advertise and how?
On a scale of 1 to 10 how weird/normal would you want the ads to be? (1 is Jim Kerry, 10 is Mike Wallace).
What kinds of stories do *you* think you'd most benefit from being in (I can't always match you up but want to know).
How much would you want your first ad run to be?
What's the exact URL you'd want me to plug?
Any thoughts what the message should be?
Any time frame of importance to you?
Do you have any images or vid you like to send me which I can use in the ad? You'll need to be the one who shot it or will need to have rights to it.
And...what is thy bidding?
