I'm not sure I think this "Bring your Daughter to War Day" is a good idea. I know what they're trying to do, and I'm sure they have perfectly good intentions, but I still don't think bringing little children into war zones is a good idea. Little children are not strong enough to wear the armor that is necessary to wear in war zones to protect themselves, and their bodies and bones are not as strong as those of adults, and thus they are more vulnerable to being maimed or killed by shrapnel, explosions, and other hazards of war.

War is not a children's game, and I would have hoped that the military would have had the decency not to treat it as such.

It's actually hard for me to continue to despise you for being a fascist now that I realize beyond a shadow of a doubt that you're an idiot.

No I'm not a fascist or an idiot. People like you and Ian continue to call me names and throw insults at me because you know you can get away with it and you want to smear me in front of everyone on here. I didn't realize that this was the Onion because I didn't know that the Onion had a "news network", but of course you seize on this as a golden opportunity to hurl names and insults.

bigmike

i really need to start paying more attention to the onion.

C'mon Dale, how can you possibly deny that what Luke said is true? I mean, little children ARE too small to carry the necessary armor, and their fragile bodies are particularly vulnerable to shrapnel and the like.  ;D

David

Too bad no one considers the 'enemy' children, such as the thousands in Baghdad, or Mosul, or Basra, or Kirkurk.  They are:

Luke, you're going to find that the truths we cling to depend upon our point of view.

People have been forcing little girls into genocidal combat for over 10,000 years, and who are you to tell them to break this tradition  :icon_war: ? Are you saying you would be against the slaughter of the Philistines, the destruction of Carthage, the Crusades, the bombing of Dresden, the Holocaust, the massacres in Rwanda, Cambodia, the Ukraine, China, Myanmar, Uganda, etc. etc. etc.?

Or should we still have all these events, but just give all daughters a doctor's excuse from them?

QuoteLittle children are not strong enough to wear the armor that is necessary to wear in war zones

Now you're just being cruel... I say we give them the armor they need, even if they have to do a few push-ups before they can carry it. Look what happened to all those poor unarmored children in Iraq  ::)

I think Luke's missed the point entirely.  Children present a smaller target, and when they start bleeding out they take longer than adults to start decompensating, so they can still lay some more rounds down for a while.  Plus, when their mom catches them, they can just tell them that daddy said it was OK.  ;D

And require a smaller, cheaper airframe for kamikaze flights.

Luke, in all seriousness, read "Ender's Game".
