We all grew up watching and understanding the World through the eyes and mind of this great communicator.? Endless debate and whining were 90% of his reporting, it was? the 10% of his reporting that made him one of the most highly regarded in his field.

At 27 to be fired as ABC news anchor, probably would have ended most journalism careers---not his. In the late '60's he went off to get his world journalism experience.? In the '80's when he returned to the the top job at ABC, that voice of reason, was for this generation the voice unlike, probably anyones since Roosevelt's or Churchill's.

The world is not a better place.? It is probably better understood --- Jennings born in Canada became an American Citizen late in life.? He was a world citizen and Americans will truly miss that reassuring voice in the post 9/11 world we deal with.? ?

he was an elitist, anti-America snob who bullied those who disagreed with his liberal socialist world view. The American public is better served with him off the air.

Condolences to his family, though.
