Hoegaarden
Mostly because I love asking for a Hoegaarden ;)

I just opened my latest batch of Golden Goat Scrote.  It's a nut brown ale that is carbonated with honey.
Even Lauren liked it.

We're making bread with the beer yeast.

i remember reading a post of a free stater that brewed his own beer. i'm sure there are many home brewers here.

i've been giving the topic some thought and am considering brewing a free state beer.

this is a subject that i am a novice at but have considered may become a new hobby.

we could have a tasting every year, on some non-holiday random day to make it an annual event and put out a free state beer of the year, complete with runner ups.

your thoughts? is this being done already?

Start a thread, say where and when.   ;D

It doesn't have to be restricked to beer... soft drinks, ciders, wines and liquors.   :ahoy:

Naturally carbonated brew doesn't always travel well, yeast can get stirred up. So maybe, folks could tour the different regions and sample the brews. That is if they ain't afeared to venture into the wilds of the Shire.  :icon_pirat:

Chimay

Mmmm... Chimay,
It does seem to travel well. Maybe if it settles for awhile it works out.

KBCraig

It's not a beer, but:

The Macallan 12 year old, sipped while noshing on a mix of Blue Diamond "vanilla bean" almonds, and Emerald smoked almonds.

Oh. My. Sweet. Jeebus!

:o :o :o :o :o :o

yeah, Chimay trumps them all.  I think Caleb cheats.  The topic was "of the last 5 minutes".  No fair naming the obvious 'of all time'.

Caleb

well, maybe I cheat a little, but if you're going to name your favorite beer of the last five minutes, that pretty much restricts me to Coors Light ... and somehow I didn't think that one would go over well.  ;D

Don't forget the land of sky blue water! (There's even a porcupine in this!)

[Colbert]Propaganda! Porcupines would never consort with bears![/Colbert]  ;)

The Hamms people are partially responsible for the "sky blue waters" lie becoming the accepted definition. It isn't "sky blue", but "sky tinted" because the Minnesota river is white not blue.

Now you have gone and created a neuronal connection between the Hamm's commercial and controversial translation of Minnesota!

I, for one, never associated Hamm's with Minnesota, ;) so the origin of the tune (now stuck in my head :() was never in question. :P

And, BTW, I read your web site last year sometime. Very educational.

O-k it doesn't have to be the last 5 minutes
Just a good beer you have had lately or an
old favorite.

That's a relief! I was just about to explain to you how not everyone drinks a beer every five minutes.  ;D

I know that's the trouble with the world- every one is a few drinks behind.

Pat K

I am having a Brooklyn Beer- Oktoberfest now.
Yes I know it's 0850 but you can't be drunk all day
unless you start early. ;D

O-k I will fess up I just got off a 16 hour shift
I am gonna finish this 1 beer and go to sleep.

By the way the BB Oktoberfest is o-k.
