John's right, Mark is encouraging all-talk-no-action people  and weasel worders to join the FSP.  "Technically I'm not breaking my pledge because intend means sort of idly thinking about moving , not promising in public that I will move."   No thanks, there are enough defeated nit pickers paralyzed with self-doubt in the world already.  Why don't we encourage confident people to join by saying we trust you will keep your word, that we know it's not easy to uproot your life, that we admire that you would commit to the FSP and will have respect for your unusual reliability when you get here.  The fact that we won't run tanks into their house if they don't come is not a good selling point, in my opinion.

I've been a little annoyed recently by Mark's downplaying of the Intent. I'm all for people on the fence signing because a lot of people can say "I'd move IF 20,000 people did too!". Urging people to be an early mover is a LOT different than urging someone to be a mover IF and WHEN.

I think that saying "It doesn't really matter" is kind of pointless. The goal isn't to get the list signed by 20K people, it's to get 20K people to MOVE and get ACTIVE for liberty. If it's REALLY that hard to get 20K liberty lovers moved, that really should be accepted and worked around but the FSP has the potential to be a massive force for change. Getting half assed people to sign is quite a bit worse in my mind than not meeting the 20K goal at all.
