Free Talk Live covered a story last night about 17 Chinese men who were ordered released from Gitmo after 7 YEARS in their concentration camps. The judges found that there was not even "reliable heresay" that the men posed a threat, and that this group of men were actually quite pro-westernism.

Good news, huh?

Oh, but it's beautiful, because the Executive branch is now filing motions attempting to put the judges' rulings into question. Their arguement? Only the executive branch can approve a person's immigration status. They're being held in Gitmo until this is "resolved".

Still?  Talk about "the sanction of the victim" . . .

That is amazing.  If China had imprisoned 17 americans there would be hell raised.  I'm shocked China is not calling the USA what it is, a police and prison state.

Actually, they do. Each year the U.S. puts out a human rights report on China and some other countries, cataloguing all of their violations. China responds in kind with its own report on the U.S.. Assuming that neither side is lying about the other (heh), and provided that the reader isn't a nationalist who'll dismiss the other side's report out-of-hand, they both come off looking terrible.
