Dan G. Brian Travis and Miller Travis were enjoying a late lunch at the food court at the Mall of NH when security escorted them off the premises for open carrying. More info from Porc-411.

Time to consider a boycott of the Mall of America?

That's in Minnesota.

The "no firearms" rule at the Mall of NH is prominently posted at the entrance. So I'm not terribly surprised they got kicked out.

Yes.

It sounds like a private business' policy, so they did nothing "wrong" in the legal or moral sense, but they certainly won't ever have me as a customer again.

All entrances, including all the ones through the stores?

I can respect that private property owners that don't want weapons on their property. I would think that contacting the owner and trying to persuade them to allow open carry on their property, you could highlight the mall shooting that happened not too long ago that was stopped by a customer who had a handgun and point out that if people were allowed to open carry that incident probably would have never happened in that mall.

If after that the owner still doesn't want to allow open carry then a boycott could be started but I think we should discuss with them first before going to a boycott.

I agree, but I've never been, so I don't feel like working on it.  Was just throwing out the idea.  Perhaps potentially boycotting customers could call their customer desk:

True, if someone wants to try to persuade them by talking to them, go right ahead. But when dealing with larger businesses like this, I'm going to venture to guess it's going to be a lot less successful than, say, if you were trying to convince a small convenience store or local restaurant to change their firearms policy.

A boycott is also meant as a form of persuasion, not punishment. When I say "they certainly won't ever have me as a customer again," that's assuming they don't change their policy. If they change their policy, I'd change my mind.

I don't find it hard to avoid the Mall of NH simply because there's virtually nothing there I want to buy, and the few stores there I might visit, I can easily find that stuff cheaper or more easily elsewhere.

So I'll certainly support a boycott if one comes about but it probably won't change my buying habits much if at all.

I've never seen those signs... I haven't been there for a few months though.

I was going to open carry in the Mall of NH and checked their policy which is on every entrance. It's stated boldly that weapons of any kind are not allowed on premises. It doesn't say that, that doesn't include police officers because I've seen them carrying in there.

From the "other side"....they'd probably rather you conceal carry or boycott them.  They have more sheep who shop there than FSPers trying to open carry there.
