Be careful what you ask for.

You run Linux you silly man.
No fooling us!

Oh come on, the "Internet Explorer" and "World of Warcraft" didn't fool you?

The video below will walk you through a screenshot, all you need to know is where the PRINT SCREEN key is. :)

For the last part, do exactly what you did to post that Liberty Scholarship Fund wallpaper. :)

I have two monitors, that's why you see the image repeat.  One is 1680x1050 the other 1280x1024, so that's why printscreen shows a black bar underneath the x1024 monitor.

I get my backgrounds from this really cool site:

On my laptop, yes. That's where I do most of my work stuph. My desktop is just for goofing around and it has Windows. I'll show my laptop destop later, but it's shutdown for the night. It has one of your FTL designs. :)

I rarely see my desktop, since it's almost always covered by myriad windows, but here it is, with the usually hidden dock showing. I reduced it from 1680x1050 to 840x525 to make the file smaller.

I cheated and hid some folders and files (TMI, yanno). Those of you who've been to earlier PorcFests will recognize this view. I use it at home and at work.

This is cool.  I'm sure I will get lots of flak for asking this but how the heck do I get an image of my desktop?   ::)  I soooo want to be cool too!   :P

I just hit printscreen and size it in GIMP.

Oh, I didn't know you had a desktop.
Assume makes an ass out of you and me.  :P

Oh God...  I'm a geek, but not a computer geek...  what is GIMP?
:notworthy:

GIMP is the "GNU Image Manipulation Program". It's an image editing program that you can get for free at http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html

That said, GIMP is a bit more complex because it can do a lot more than just take screenshots. If you've ever worked with Photoshop, you'll get the idea. If not, you'll be confronted with a lot of options. It's a fun program and comes in handy so I'd recommend you try it out just on general principle but it's overkill ONLY for taking screenshots, I think.

Does the Windows version automatically send the screenshot to GIMP or do you have to create a new document first (Edit -> Paste as -> New Image)?
