I can think of various ways to film this...

Spoof the Abbey Road cover while crossing the bridge.   

Spoof the ending of Buckaroo Bonzai (although that may be too obscure for most people? see below); Dale has to be Perfect Tommy.    

Spoof "The Birds", only instead of birds gathering on a telephone wire, it's libertarians... lots of libertarians... 

And when Will makes it all the way to the beach, spoof the ending of "Planet of the Apes".

Doesn't for me, but if you slowed down a bit and arrived on the 15th, just being a Saturday would have a large impact on the size of the crowd that can welcome you.
