I've been a fan of Crown Royal. Seems really smooth. Kind of pricey but as I don't drink that much, a bottle usually lasts me quite a while. To be honest, though, I haven't taste-tested that many to honestly compare them. I might find there are better and cheaper ones out there.

I was (past tense) a Jack Daniels man.

Unless I was puffing on a nice cigar then there was single malt involved.

My mom's side of the family tends to drink beer mostly but then they drink whiskey they drink Crown Royal and I find it to be nasty stuff I only had it once when I was like 12, but I have seen people get very drunk on the stuff.

I don't really drink "whiskey" I drink Vodka and Tequila mainly with Vodka being a mixed drink and Tequila being my shot type drink (Jose Quervo's) and from what I know those aren't  Whiskey's.

If anyone knows anything that is as smooth as Vodka let me know because I wouldn't mind trying it, but to me Vodka is basically water, it's the only think I can "out drink" some people with.

when I was "allowed"  ::)

usually a single malt 18y or older.
Occasionally Beam.

I enjoy whiskey, but one of my favorite drinks is a vodka gimlet. Vodka on the ice with a dash of lime juice. That's gettin' down to business!

I can't stand Maker's Mark, Heaven Hill, Jack Daniels or anything else made in Bardstown, Kentucky. I used to live there, the air smells of yeast every morning until sundown when the vapors start kicking you in the head.

The people in those factories tip badly too, and make you navigate the building before they do it.

No, I'm not a whisky man.

The closest I get is the Jameson in Irish Carbombs. I like those quite a bit.

id like to chime in here.
i don't drink whiskey, i drink Yukon jack, a Canadian liqueur,  and let me tell you why. i worked in and around bars for over 10 years here in Rhode Island and the one thing Ive found in EVERY ONE of them is they all look to save money. i cant tell you how many times I've married bottles of peppermint schnapps into a rumpleminze bottle or Poland springs vodka into Belvedere or Grey goose bottles, or "admiral nelson" into Captain Morgan ...... lol... the theory was if you were stupid enough to order top shelf vodka/liquor mixed with cranberry or any other juice you deserved to get burned...... not my theory but one of many people ive worked for.......
the way i figure it if you go to a nightclub you are probably getting burned on expensive drinks. if you go to a small bar you have better chances of actually getting what you paid for, assuming you order top shelf.... the only way to avoid getting burned is to order bottled beer (draft is also switched on occasion, most regular beer i.e. bud, coors, etc will be cheap natural light or something, with only dark beer being real i.e. Guinness or Sam) or one of the very few liquors that cant be faked i.e. Yukon jack and Bombay Sapphire being the only two i can think of off hand. all other liquors have a "generic" version of themselves they get switched with, rums, vodkas, whiskeys, in my opinion they should all be suspect when your paying for it and its getting poured from an already opened bottle.
sometimes the giveaways of it happening are worn out bottle labels, or things like seeing an aftershock bottle with no sugar crystals in it because its been refilled with cheap cinnamon schnapps (30 proof) so many times.....lol
and for those saying "i would be able to tell if it was fake" you would be surprised. if you start you're night drink the fake stuff you almost never know, or if you finish you're night drink fake stuff you almost never know. it's usually only the people in the middle of the night who have come from other bars where they may have been drinking shots of rumpleminze all night (100 proof) and suddenly they get cheap peppermint schnapps that realize it. and if they did you would make nice with a couple freebies or worst case they suddenly became "unruly" and had to get thrown out.....lol... I'm not justifying it just telling the truth.
this is why i always choose Yukon jack because it is guaranteed to be real and it is 100 proof and tastes OH SO GOOD going down......  :)

sorry i know this is slightly off topic but i wanted to ramble it out.....

I enjoy single malt Scotch whisky, especially Highland Park, The Macallan, and Talisker.

I don't drink much Irish whiskey but I do like 12 yr Tullamore Dew and Irish Mist (if that counts as whiskey).

If you have a mediocre whiskey (such as 6 yr Canadian Club), I recommend mixing it with ginger beer.

I used to drink a lot of shots of George Dickel (or Jack Daniels) with a Jolt chaser!  Nothing like a wide awake drunk.   ;D

I used to be fond of Johnny Walker Red, Black, and Gold. . . . I even had Blue once and I believe that there also is a JW: Green

"the theory was if you were stupid enough to order top shelf vodka/liquor mixed with cranberry or any other juice you deserved to get burned"

They wouldn't get much sympathy from me.

There is indeed a JW Green.

When I have the extra money, The Macallan 12yo. When I don't (which is most of the time), it's Famous Grouse (about the same price for 1.5L, as the malt for 750ml).
