I'm not exactly hip to the lingo, but how is a chat room different from what this is?  I thought it was a chat room, or a chat board, or somesuch thingie . . .

This is like a writing board that people can write on, and someone can come by later (maybe hours later) and write or add something to it.

Chat is like sitting in room with people, if your not there to hear you don't know what was said before you walk in. It's also faster for information transfer between 2 people.

Yep, and if there are a lot of people there it's like sitting in a room full of people - noisy. I've never been able to do that.

It's not IRC as far as I know, but added a chat here.  The forum index displays who is in the chat.  It automagically logs you on based on your forum name.

BTW, it should only work on the Default Forum Theme.  If you've (like Lloyd) selected a different theme, you're SOL unless you switch to the default theme, or talk me into modifying your theme someday.

Wow, it's neat!   I just quickly pressed the chat button but then you can read what everyone in there is writing so I clicked out. 

I don't know that much about them except that I thought you had to be invited and it was private, maybe those are for sex talk or something? 

My only experience on a chat room was when we first got the internet and I used to play checkers online and you could chat with your opponent, (sp?).   I stopped playing after quite a few perverts got on the chat thing and wanted to talk about sex and this one guy wanted to talk about poop.  I shit you not, isn't that gross?   I told him he was a pervert and he needed help, it really bothered me because of the sick things he wrote.

Isn't that a shame though to have that stuff happen just over a checker game?  I was playing with this kid one time and I worried if anyone ever wrote anything gross to him but I guess it's the chance you take when your playing with people you don't know.

I don't mind getting semi-personal and having some fun but a sex room I don't know.  Maybe I'll start a poll over there, that will probably get a comment or two from Lloyd.
