What do you think about bald women?

I'd probably do a double-take just because 99% of the shaved heads around belong to men. What I'd think after that would honestly depend on the rest of the appearance - if there were other outward signs of individualism such as tattoos, piercings, punk style, etc, I might chalk it up to that, otherwise I'd probably wonder if there were health reasons. That she was doing it to show solidarity with her friend (which I think is great, btw) probably wouldn't occur to me unless I knew her and was familiar with the whole situation.

    'Hair'

She asks me why
I'm just a hairy guy
I'm hairy noon and night
Hair that's a fright
I'm hairy high and low
Don't ask me why
Don't know
It's not for lack of break
Like the Grateful Dead
Darling

Gimme head with hair
Long beautiful hair
Shining, gleaming,
Streaming, flaxen, waxen

Give me down to there hair
Shoulder length or longer
Here baby, there mama
Everywhere daddy daddy

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Let it fly in the breeze
And get caught in the trees
Give a home to the fleas in my hair
A home for fleas
A hive for bees
A nest for birds
There ain't no words
For the beauty, the splendor, the wonder
Of my...

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

I want it long, straight, curly, fuzzy
Snaggy, shaggy, ratty, matty
Oily, greasy, fleecy
Shining, gleaming, streaming
Flaxen, waxen
Knotted, polka-dotted
Twisted, beaded, braided
Powdered, flowered, and confettied
Bangled, tangled, spangled, and spaghettied!

Oh say can you see
My eyes if you can
Then my hair's too short

Down to here
Down to there
Down to where
It stops by itself

They'll be ga ga at the go go
When they see me in my toga
My toga made of blond
Brilliantined
Biblical hair

My hair like Jesus wore it
Hallelujah I adore it
Hallelujah Mary loved her son
Why don't my mother love me?

Hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair, hair
Flow it, show it
Long as God can grow it
My hair

Maybe this is a neutral response, too, but: it's not my hair, so why should I care one way or the other? Seriously. Most of us believe you have the right to do whatever you want to your hair.

some of the most beautiful girls I've met were bald.  One had a disorder which didn't allow her hair on any part of her body. . .her eyebrows were drawn in.  It was definitely something she wanted at first (hair) but got really used to the idea of wigs and not having to do much work to look good.

I think she wouldn't be shunned at all, but you're probably right most people I think would believe she's a chemo patient.

hell go for it, and if not let it grow back

I suppose we should clarify: bald where?

But we had a thread about that in TMI, I think.  ;D

I think they will need a good hat, NH winters are cold.

I keep my hair quite short.
I have many hats.  ;D

Maintaining short hair (or none) is VERY easy!

Also, one needs not worry about having wet hair - one wipe and you move on to other things you want to do.

Mucho time saver!

When in Afghanistan in '02 I noticed several female British soldiers with shaved heads.
I think it makes the statement that you don't give a damn about anyone else's opinion and are not a slave to fashion.

I love not having hair to mess with.
