Some people are hairier than others (men or woman - you tell me).

One could always ask "Mother:"

Having been a bald woman myself, I obviously don't have a problem with it.  I can tell you that bald women in New Hampshire are r.a.r.e., though.  She needs to be really self-confident to not be bothered by the swivel-heading she'll probably receive.  It's obviously a factor depending on what line of work you're in as well.  I had punked-out hair, piercings etc. at various jobs in California, but NH is much more conservative (and I live on the Mass border, which is one of the more "cosmopolitan" parts of the state.  Tattoos, multiple ear piercings, and those zany disc-in-lobe earrings, are common; facial piercings, unusual; bald women? honestly, I don't think I've seen one in 3 1/2 years here.

I think it makes the statement that you don't give a damn about anyone else's opinion and are not a slave to fashion.

Or, you've just given up.

I dated a bald girl once.  She wore a wig, it was only noticeable in the more intimate moments.  Didn't bother me.

If I walked around worrying what other people thought, I would be a total wreck.
Eventually, some people get to a point where they dont give a damn what people
think of them.  They just wanna be left alone.  :)

Not caring what others think or worrying about impressing others is very 'freeing'.

I do try to make young people comfortable around me and, generally, try not to scare people.  I have to smile like an idiot to keep from scaring my grand Niece & Nephew.

Nice pic. I think a little hair is much better than shaven.

I would assume chemo.  If I found out it was not, I would assume Dworkin-style feminist or Spears-style crazy.  I certainly think it looks freakish.

If it was an expression of solidarity with an ill loved one, I would feel like the judgmental ass-hat that I am.

PS - My opinion does not matter though, I am an ass-hat.
