I've heard of lots of problems with Taurus (poor QC).  I currently have Taurus that needs to go back since the cylinder chamber doesn't line up with the barrel.   :o

You might try looking for a used S&W. Find someone who knows something about revolvers and take them shopping with you.  You could also read through the Revolver checkout guideline and go yourself.

We went to the Springfield Mass. S&W factory range/store. It was pretty cool, you can rent the guns to use on their range etc.

Nice guys although they require you to give them a Drivers License to touch a gun.

The S&W range is cool, but more expensive than the Manchester Firing Line, where you can also rent guns, including some that are full auto, and bring your own ammo, if you'd rather not buy from them.

Manchester requires you to purchase ammo from them for use in their rental guns.
Any guns you bring in to the facility can be shot with your own ammo.

If you have an objection to S&W's corporate policies... buy used.

Personally a K frame model 13 or 19 are some of my favorites.

I like my Ruger SP101. It is the 2-1/4" spurless.

The Hogue monogrip improved it a lot. Now I have the Crimson Trace Lasergrips. Not as good as the Hogue but better than the factory grip.

Ruger does not do a lot of deburring of the internals so a little clean-up there helped out a lot. After that cleanup, a lighter mainspring and trigger spring improved this double-action only considerably.

The Hogue grips did look waay batter than the stock grips.
Not certain about laser sights. I feel like it's a good way to give your position away.

The good laser sights come on only when you want them to... that should be about three seconds before you fire.

The Crimson Trace have a button under the middle finger for activation.

Good point. I guess I'm only familiar with movies in which the laser is always on. For dramatic effect of course. In real life that would get you killed good.

I do like lasers though. [pew pew]

I think when the time is right I'm going to get a Ruger SP101.
Then I want to put on some sweet Hogue wood grips.

I agree that is sweet looking. I prefer the radiused edges. Looks better and much nicer to touch.
