I agree that is sweet looking. I prefer the radiused edges. Looks better and much nicer to touch.

All right, all right... no need to erotically charge an already gun filled situation.

Creepy gun fondling Jar heads!

That is too funny.  I almost pulled a PatK and spit my coffee all over the computer.   ;D 8)

Ok it's kick me day. ;D

I was entertaining going old school. What do ya'll think of the .44 cal black powder. One of the negatives is I think I should probably leave one cylinder empty to rest the hammer on for safety.
Pluses, are no fed reporting, good price and cool having something different.

Puke

I don't understand "radiused edges". Do you mean the curve?

Black-powder is certainly different. Do they make cartridges for those or do you have to poor the powder in and then the ball?

Tom Sawyer

The edges of the metal parts are rounded off instead of square cut. It is an extra step and costs more to do, but much nicer.

Powder and ball... although you can get cylinders that except cartridges, however they are pricey.

Puke

I see, like sanding smooth the metal edges?
That would be nice.

And of course, I should have Googled before asking.

Tom Sawyer

I wouldn't have to wear those clothes when I carried the gun would I ? :D

That one is the Colt style, I like the Remington style with the top strap over the cylinder.

Another nice thing is they aren't so hard on the ears as the higher velocity modern guns. And from what I am reading by law it is not a "firearm". Anyone that knows more about that please chime in. I guess no concealed carry license required?

LawDog has post up about using semi-auto magazines as a sort-of speedloader for revolvers.

Interesting concept.

And the tapered loading lever.

Steve Earle » The Devil's Right Hand

About the time that Daddy left to fight the big war
I saw my first pistol in the general store
In the general store, when I was thirteen
Thought it was the finest thing I ever had seen
So l asked if I could have one someday when I grew up
Mama dropped a dozen eggs, she really blew up
She really blew up and I didn't understand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

The devil's right hand, the devil's right hand
Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

My very first pistol was a cap and ball Colt
Shoot as fast as lightnin' but it loads a mite slow
Loads a mite slow and soon I found out
It can get you into trouble but it can't get you out
So then I went and bought myself a Colt 45
Called a peacemaker but I never knew why
Never knew why, I didn't understand
Cause Mama said the pistol is the devil's right hand

Well I get into a card game in a company town
Caught a miner cheating I shot the dog down
Shot the dog down, watched the man fall
Never touched his holster, never had a chance to draw
The trial was in the morning and they drug me out of bed
Asked me how I pleaded, not guilty I said
Not guilty I said, you've got the wrong man
Nothing touched the trigger but the devil's right hand

Check local laws. In New York, you can purchase a black powder revolver over the counter, or via mail order. But if you also possess powder, cap, and ball for it, and don't have a pistol permit, or the revolver isn't registered on your permit, it's a felony with an eight year maximum sentence.

I don't know details about New Hampshire, but I'd guess that NH open and concealed carry restrictions cover black powder revolvers, too, It's not a "firearm" according to federal law, hence the background check and interstate shipping laws don't apply, but it probably IS a firearm relative to local carry laws. So in NH it's probably legal to open carry, but requires a permit to carry concealed or transport loaded in your car.

I find black powder revolvers to be a blast to shoot. When I was in Montana last May, I went through most of 100 rounds one afternoon, six shots at a time, with a pause between to pour the powder, stuff the balls, grease 'em up, and place the caps.
