Following in Will Buchannan's footsteps (sorta)

David James, a young California lad, is thinking about riding his bike to New Hampshire, perhaps following the same route that Will did. He talks about it at  http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=16610.0
He purchased the domain name BikeforLiberty.com today.
I think we should all encourage him.  More publicity for the FSP !

I think if he doesn't wait until Spring there is a good chance he will die.  Biking across places like MT, SD, WI, MN, and NY in the worst of winter sounds like death to me.  Doesn't the windchill get down to -50 or worse in some of those places?  It got down to -10 in Seabrook in December already.

I may be wrong but I thought encouragement would be something more like:
Yes!  Bike for Liberty would be tremendous!  He can compete with Wills record of media interviews.  He can make videos to update his audience.  We will find out what the best bike seat is.
This is great news!

Go back and read the whole thread at http://forum.freestateproject.org/index.php?topic=16610.0
The weather problems have already been pointed out to him, and he agrees that "...it might be best to wait until April."

Encouragement means something like "Great idea!  Need any help with logistics or setting up your web page?"
I've already offered him the same hospitality that I gave Will and Brooke.  Are there enough outside-the-shire Porcupine's that we could arrange stopovers for the entire trip?

PS  I just noticed a missing small letter "l" in Will Buchannan's name in the subject line.  Russel, did you have something to do with that?  ;)  I replaced the ones in my messages, but I can't edit other people's messages.

Yes, I pointed that out to him and he agreed with me.  Anyway, I did offer him lots of encouragement and will spend a great deal of time helping him if he goes through with it, just like I did for Will and Brooke.

Can't really fault the boy for not having weather at the top of his list, as he lives in the People's Republic of California and has probably never encountered albino brain chiggers.  :)

I warned him about the weather and he kind of shrugged it off and said he likes riding in cold weather. I hope he knows what he's in for.
