Anyone have move info on this? What a great day for freedom. Was anyone able to get video? If not... I think they need to get a copy from the court. Coppy boy needs to be impeached with it at mikes trial.

Mike Barskey

I and one other person requested to audio and/or video record the trial and the judge denied us permission. After the trial, I asked the judge what I needed to do in order to have my own videographer record their trial for me in a few weeks; she told me I could not have my own videographer and could not audio record it, but that I could request a copy of the court's own audio recording (there would be no video, apparently). That's some kind of "public" trial, eh?

FTL_Ian

She's lying.

Do not request permission to record, but announce that you will be recording.  Witness Dave Ridley's techniques.

I am sorry I did not know about this trial until I heard Mike's 411, as I am behind in checking email.  :(  Wish I could have been there!

First, I want to deeply thank Kat, Russell, John, and Kira for their support at home. John, thanks for clearing the paths last night repeatedly while it snowed, in order to make it easier in the morning. Russell, thank you for getting up early and snowblowing the ENTIRE driveway so that we could drive out. Kat, thank you, too, for getting up early and making smoothies for us all, clearing off the car and getting it ready, and driving to court. Kira, you sleepy pet, thank you for getting up at all and coming with us. I was so glad you were there!

Tackle the World, and Facilitator to the Icon, thank you both so much for making the drive in the snow and being there, and for all your sage advice. TTW, thank you most delightfully for laughing in the courtroom, but most importantly, FOR BEING IN YOUR UNDERWEAR!!  :o Folks, you should have seen her!! Charlie, thank you, too, for showing up, and it was great to finally meet you. Mike, likewise, can't have been a fun place to return to. I loved catching your eye when the cop repeatedly lied!!!

I didn't stay updated on all the threads and didn't realize the trial was today. So glad to hear from the Porc 411 that the judge expressed some sanity and common sense!

I really missed you Dale! We're just not sure what was really up with this trial, it was bizarre to say the least. The cop went on and on about what Mike had done during the pull-over, and finally the judge realized that Mike was in the room and had his own trial pending, and said that the cop should stop talking about that as it had nothing to do with me. After that, the prosecutor asked the cop a lot of questions; did he have special training in detection of alcohol, etc. He really went overboard in my opinion, not that I have that much experience with these events.

Congrats, Libertine, I was so glad to hear this.  Wow, a judge who sided with justice, who'd a thunk it...

As I was listening to the Porc 411, the sun came out from behind a cloud...   ;)

Oh, Becky, thank you! I was thinking of you all on your snowy hill . . . and of course, the sun came out for us as well!  ;D

couldn't you make up a baking pan emergency Dale?
What's wrong, Russell? Are you suffering from artificial drama withdrawal?

Ha, ha, you guys are so funny!! Russell says you owe me some muffins, Dale! ;)

My guess from afar is the contrast between Libertine's honest integrity and the cops lying was very evident. I am smiling thinking about the cops and prosecution being rejected by their own sins. :)

Good on you smurfette. 8)

Thanks so very much, Tom, I so appreciate this!

I liked that video.

Ya... she bought lunch....  but we stuffed her coat with money while she was in the bathroom.   :D >:D

WAH!!!!! YOU DID!!! Come on, you guys, I just wanted to show my appreciation for you all giving up your day and time, and being so supportive!! Thank you, I will figure out another way to treat you all...and the Katster refused to divulge the culprits, so I'm holding every single one of you equally . . . GUILTY!!!  ;D

;D  congratulations  libertine   lets hope this is the shape of things to come  and the justice system starts working for the people involved in victimless crimes.

I hope so, Joe, that would be so beautiful. Thank you for your words.  :D

The cost to record in that judge's court is that the cameramen must be willing to be arrested.  At the hearing they had for Mike, neither Jesse nor I were willing to be arrested on that day over the recording issue, so no recording was made beyond their checkpoint.

As usual, what the judge says is different from their rules, both of which are different from what the bailiffs say.  The bailiffs (at their hearing for Mike) made it sound as though an established member of the media might be able to record, while the judge has informed you that no one will be allowed to record the "trial" save the court itself.  Their rules say otherwise.  None of this matters.  What matters is how we approach it.

I believe we'll see a repeat of what happened the first time Dave informed Keene District Court of his intention to record despite the possibility of arrest.  The judge announced a change in policy, and allowed Dave the freedom he was demanding.  Whether the judge will announce anything this time remains to be seen, but I do not expect them to arrest Dave.

Will someone who was there please call FTL and tell the story?  Ideally it would be Libertine, but I'll take anyone.

800-259-9231 best time is 7pm ET, but anytime before 9:30p is fine.

Mike Barskey

I haven't heard that Dave wants to risk arrest to video their trial for me, and I don't blame him - I don't think it's going to be very noteworthy. I would love it video recorded, would like it audio recorded, and as a last resort would like a copy of the court's recording.

I'm a bit shy, but I'll call at 7pm.

I think it would be good if someone else called in too, for another perspective.

Mike..not knowing what lies were told by the cop...it seems that now having his testimony locked in trying to get teri may be a huge bonus for you. He can't deviate from what he has already said "under oath" on the stand. To say anything else is perjury and it's on record.

It sucks not having the video...but having lies caught in any format ...well that's just frigging priceless!

Fluff and Stuff

I'm been following this thread but I didn't see any findings or results published.  What is the outcome of the court appearance?

Also, Ian, don't worry about recording in Keene and Milford, Gov. Lynch is trying hard to close those courthouses down.  Let's hope that happens.  The less courthouses the better.

That was meant as a suggestion not an instruction.  It's the way to meet the judge's challenge, from my understanding of how Dave did it.  Sorry if it came off the wrong way.

Sorry, I meant when he does as he is planning at Keene District Court.  I'm willing to attempt to record the trial they are having for you.  We can continue this on your thread.

I'm been following this thread but I didn't see any findings or results published.  What is the outcome of the court appearance?

The cop started testifying.  He kept talking about all the stuff he thought that Barskey did.  I was sitting there thinking, cool...Barskey gets to hear all the 'evidence' against him and prepare.  The judge shut him down and told him to just talk about Teri.  Teri keeps getting blown away by the cop making up stuff - he said she was being uncooperative and wouldn't get in and out of the car when he told her to, said she wouldn't unlock the door when he told her to, and claimed she called him rude.  Most of this can be disproved by the porc 411 call.  He claimed she had 6 beer bottles, two open, when the beer comes in 4 packs.  The prosecutor tried to keep Teri from asking about this, but the judge overruled his objection.  Cop gets story mixed up in all the questioning.  The judge ruled "No ruling" and said Teri was free to go.  Teri came off as being open and honest, which of course, she is, and the cop's story didn't mesh, even though he had the open beer bottle, which Teri never disputed.

We don't really know what "no ruling" means.
