Hey folks, I have a very delightful postscript to this whole situation! I received a UPS delivery that was from Dogfish Head Brewery, and inside were a carry-tote, plaid cap, various stickers, two beer openers, and a beer cooler all emblazoned with the Dogfish Head logo, along with this note:

Dear Teri,
Sam Calagione, founder & owner of Dogfish Head Craft Brewery asked me to send you something to show his appreciation for your dedication to Dogfish. Your story was awesome!
Glad you got your bottle back!
                        Nora
                        Brewceptionist

This made me laugh out loud, and I just wanted to share it with everyone!

Cheers!

Gravitation effects will most probably assure it. :D

That is a cool story Teri... you are just one of those people that good stuff happens to, emanating nice rays like you do.

Do you know him? I love the book he wrote, "Extreme Brewing," and thought from the contents he was really cool (plus I LOVE his beer!). Now I think he's fabulous!!

I don't know him personally, though members of the homebrew club I'm part of do. The impression they gave was that he's extremely arrogant. He's also a damn fine business man and my CEO is entirely enamored with him. :P This is a reason to like him a bit more, IMO.

I've not yet read Extreme Brewing, though I have it at home.

Well, I think this is all the more reason to form my own opinions about someone based on my own experiences. Thanks for the great reminder!

I've used two of the recipes from the book, but of course, in keeping with the theme, have altered them to suit my own taste! It's also just a damn good read, perfect for those of us who just want to push things.  ;D I hope you enjoy as much as I did when you get to reading it yourself.
