that postcard image, with the barskey wearing his own clothes and getting plenty of fresh air, will be quite a contrast for the cops. Maybe if they take it away from him, he can comment about how he can't even be free in the past ....... even though he has not been deemed guilty by the system.

From Hilsborough County Department of Corrections web site:
"All inmate correspondence must indicated their criminal control number." (ha! it looks like a grammar mistake - indicated instead of indicate)

Mike's is 44706. So if you're writing him a letter on your own:

Mike Barskey
CCN: 44706 (not necessary to include "Hillsborough County Department of Corrections")
445 Willow Street
Manchester, NH 03103

When I called them, the screws said you didn't have to put the number on.

iSkye

Hmm... before I posted the update, I called them and said that I read on their web site that the ccn is a must. She gave me the number and said that is not necessary to indicate the jail's name but that the number is important so they can easier distribute the mail.
Another contradiction - info on their web site "Books must be shipped directly from the publisher or book store" apparently is not correct either. Because when I called them and inquired about books, they said that the books are not allowed at all. Period. I was told that the inmates can read the books from the jail's library.
Go figure!

Thanks Kat and libertine.
Can I suggest a mail-to-jail.com link in the forum's banner?
Libertine:  Can I ask you to send him today's anarchyinyourhead?
Sorry, Dan, just saw this. What day did you want sent?
Libertine is on the road.  It'd be much easier if one of us did it.  In fact, I can print it this morning and send it.

Thanks Kat!

You should have a shirt that says something like-

"Free the Barskey!"
or
"Barskey is not an animal to be put in a cage!"

His last name just works for that kind of stuff. It might get people curious about the Barskey.

I'll work on that either tonight/tomorrow or while I'm bored at work (whatever comes first).

It is typical though to get contradictory info out of the jails.  ::)  They've got no reason to be nice or helpful.

Can we donate books to the library?

Kat Kanning

I would guess 'yes'.  Someone nice had done that and Russell was reading Atlas Shrugged in jail.

Russell was reading Atlas Shrugged in jail.

Was that some sort of punishment his jailers inflicted on him for being uncooperative?

Mike also asked if he there was an earlier courtdate available and the judge said there wasn't.  I wonder if Teri and Mike could arrange with the court to trade courtdates.

I'll call the court tomorrow and suggest just that.

I called the court and was told that I can send a written request to the judge asking for our trial dates to be switched. It wouldn't be possible if our trials involved different police departments, because they're scheduled on different days. The woman I spoke with was very polite and informative, and although she didn't know what the chances were of the petition being granted, she gave me all the necessary information I needed to make the request. I'll do that today.

Lauren,

Can I have the footage of the cameras being denied? Do you have the means to upload me a link to that?

AntonLee

so the court dates work for one side of a 'crime' but not the other.  Cops get scheduled to whatever day works best for them and their department. . . the accused get to sit in a cell until Officer Friendly is off his vacation.  How convenient for them.

To the late commers to this thread, the phone number to the jail and relevant info are on page 1 of this thread.

Mike is allowed out 3 letters a week, irregardless of booking, according to the lady on the phone, actually 3 stamps, and stuff to write with.  I asked them to take care of Mike as he is not a violent person.
