Goes along with not publishing the cops addresses or names even.

Ok, I called the Telegraph and they claim that is a common practice to specify the individual more specifically so that they don't get mixed up with someone of the same name.  ::) Sounds sketchy, but whatever. I told them that I'm in that house right now and Jesse most definitely does not live here.

I have seen them publish addresses before. I don't think they're being singled out.

I would like to know why the assaulters addresses weren't posted.

Judging by other newspaper articles I've seen, this is pretty common when identifying people charged with crimes. They're probably relying on some public record of a last-known address to get the information.

Court protesters in hats are charged

Pretty good article overall—nice summary of most everyone involved in the larger movement here, and how it's growing.

And in reply...

QuoteBecause the bailiffs weren't charged with a crime by police.

I'ved tried to submit comments, but they seem to be deleted soon afterwards. Who should I contact about this?

Create a login. I think that makes it appear right away and not require screening.

As for the address thing, I tried to tell them at the booking that it was an old address, and gave them my new one-- guess they didn't believe me, or bother to call my landlord like I told them to.

My reply from the article writer:

Nick,
We always publish the address and age of the person getting arrested. This is to avoid confusion if somebody else in town happens  to have the same name. So, for example, if Jim Smith, 25, of Elm Street Milford, gets arrested for child porn he doesn't get confused with Jim Smith, 45, of Maple Street, Wilton.

Unfortunately for you, Corey apparently gave your address.
Did he move out after Feb. 2?

In The Cabinet (a weekly) we are going to say Corey "gave his address as 29. N Lincoln Street" until we hear that his address has been officially changed in the charge against him. You may want to contact Milford Police and straighten this out.

"Manchester man caught with marijuana who called the war on drugs "unconstitutional and inhumane.""

If that's in reference to Andrew's protest, then being 'caught' is quite a spin to put on it. In fact, I'd go so far as to say caught is not just inaccurate, it's incorrect.

There's nothing like being the subject of a news report to impress upon you how biased and inaccurate reporting really is.

Maybe they wrote it that way because they were afraid of going to jail, if they seemed like they were promoting the protest. -- Like Ian from FTL.

The writers name also goes next to the article in the paper, they may have wrote it that way because they fear police retaliation for writing what might appear to be a pro-marijuana article.
