From the article:

Quote
"When you think about this claim that if a state believes a federal law is unconstitutional it can just ignore it, then I presume if a county believed a state law was unconstitutional it could just ignore it," Hesse said. "Really what's implicit in this is an unwillingness to recognize a lawful authority."

Yep, I agree 100%, but when he says it he makes it sound like it's a bad thing. haha.

In a way it is...
If you and I enter a contract... and agree to a means of arbitration on disagreement. Failure to digress to arbitration voids the contract.

QuoteIt seems Nh is not taking any money for "projects" according to this list http://www.stimuluswatch.org/project/by_state ...... We seem to be the only ones abstaining

That can't last, given the current legislature. Thanks for posting the "tracking site"... but remember that even Bloomberg news hasn't been able to get the figures on how much the Fed has actually printed, even with a FOIA lawsuit. There's a lot of spending that's outside the appropriations.

See everyone in Concord tomorrow, it's supposed to be sunny.  :toothy2:

I'm not sure I follow. Who entered into a contract? I certainly didn't enter into one. Lysander Spooner's "No Treason" pretty much tore the argument that the constitution is a contract thing to shreds.

The rally was great, but HCR6 failed.

AH for the old days of tar and feathering.

unfortunately, the "mob" didn't have the guts to make a process halting protest. About 10 seconds of "boooo" and everyone angrily filed out.

Had that continued, and people refuse to leave, they had about 4 security guards there...

I'm shocked, shocked I tell you... oh, wait a minute, no I'm not.  Isn't this business politics as usual?  Now maybe if the sponsor of this bill had had the balls to put it up for a vote while "The Evil One" was still president and wiping his ass with the Constitution, but that would have been Republican against Republican... can't have that, now can we... abuses against the constitution are only bad when the Democrats do it.  ::)

Those damn commies!!  :P

doobie

We need to start looking into taking up Article 10 and pushing for a non-violent revolution.

We are the PEOPLE, not the SUBJECTS!

Fuck the legislature.  They only care about giving themselves more power and trying to exert more control over the PEOPLE.

Gee I have seen elsewhere that some folk were
sorely disappointed at the behavior of the crowd.

That you were loud and disrespectful in such
a solemn place.

They were not loud and disrespectful enough.

If you play the political game and you don't win, you are going to then say the process should be disrupted?
Mob is right...

Pat K

Yeah and besides shouldn't slaves be quiet in the masters house ?

I wasn't playing a political game. I was showing up for a rally that was meant to "change the rules forever" as DGoddard put it.

Nothing changed. Oh well.

Sorry you got snookered.

Experiences, even bad ones, grow me as a person. :)

As a mostly out-of-the-system activist, I expect a massive showing of government haters to have some extreme power, rather than shushing each other during the ceremonial proceedings.
