AH for the old days of tar and feathering.

It is better to light one small fire under a cauldron of tar than to curse the darkness . . .

Sorry you got snookered.

Experiences, even bad ones, grow me as a person. :)

As a mostly out-of-the-system activist, I expect a massive showing of government haters to have some extreme power, rather than shushing each other during the ceremonial proceedings.

Come on now ya don't want to be rude
do ya? I mean damn, do you think they
are deciding how to run every ones
life in that building or some thing.

Pat K

Gee it has been suggested to me that since
I have not made it up to NH yet I should just
shut up. Well I guess that's a fair critique .

But just one more before I do.

Remember when asking daddy for more
freedom be nice, or daddy might spank you.
Your brothers and sisters will say you deserve it.

That's exactly what it felt like, and when I realized how disingenuous it seemed, I realized there was no way it was going to pass in a house full of Dems. About the moment they started chanting "No King Obama!", it occurred to me, and probably the Democrat legislators in there, that there likely wasn't a single person in the crowd who would ever vote for them whether they pass it or not.

I just went to fluff up a rally that could be good video for encouraging freedom activists. It would have been a cool statement, a sort of bragging point, if this had passed as far as encouraging more activists, but that's about it. I told my ride that I didn't even care one way or the other whether we stayed for the actual vote. Having gone in with low expectations, I wasn't very disappointed. That's one of the benefits of having no faith in the system. I didn't lose any sleep at all over the presidential election either.

That was my plan, too, and I leapt through hoops to reschedule my work schedule so I could make it.  Unfortunately for me, I spent the entire night violently ill, purging every last drop of fluid from my body.  :puke: I've spent most of the day sleeping, and dreamed I was in the desert searching for water.   :'(

Approximately how many people were at the rally? I have yet to see any numbers posted.

Maybe the politicos are re-thinking their tactics? That would "Change the rules forever".

Tom Sawyer

I understand you had the aluminum foil hat Dale :) 8)
+1
I was sick with the flu so the trip was off for us.
Sorry you were sick also Friday... hope I haven't been spreading my germs via these intertubes.

Naw.  They're already posting on the nhliberty.org forum that things would have been different if we just had more people in the State House.  :BangHead:

K. Darien Freeheart

That sucks. :(

Dennis's call in to FTL was all full of excitement and fervor. I shudder to think about the impact that kind of energy would do OUTSIDE of politics, let alone if others started to get it.

Dave Ridley

without having asked anyone else or looked at any posted numbers...

my guess on the rally turnout would be between 300 and  600

many many new friendly faces and much recruitment was done for nhfree and nhliberty... even by me and i was running a camera

I met so many people, made so many connections, saw the evil political process in (in)action. . . it motivates me to be around so many others that want freedom like I do.

today was a good day, be damned what legislators might have done in the 30 seconds they had to push a button. . . today they made enemies, today they brought people together even more to stand against them.   Today they might have turned down the opportunity to push for freedom, but doing what they did only created new ideas in people's mind.  They only solidified others'

they're fools, because next time will be larger.  Eventually they will not be able to ignore us in the upper deck.

The rally got an AP story and local coverage... so at least some people will hear that not everyone supports the "stimulus". That is worth something.

Of course it would be much more effective if we had some people writing stories for local media... one of the Monitor editors was so confused that he thought the rally was OPPOSING the US Constitution.

Russell Kanning

this rally seemed like a good opportunity to communicate with the general public that we are not happy with the status quo and are contemplating secession. We knew the dems control the house senate and governor ... so it wasn't going to happen by a vote this year.
I was a little sad to hear from Kat that the rally was oriented towards the building and occupants instead of the outsiders. I guess also my closest friends were also some of the only people who held signs explaining what this was all about.
I am feeling too bad to show up today in my cardinal outfit to let people know that some of us are moonbats and can actually see ourselves splitting from the feds.
It was also disturbing that some people were yelling/chanting stuff like "we will fight". I don't understand the strength in numbers, today we can win because of our mob mentality. In a voluntary society you talk and live your beliefs and hope to persuade others to action. We cannot become free based on a vote or out shouting our enemies.
I am glad some of you guys had fun at the rally. it is good to see that many are interested in freeing themselves from the empire. :)
