Pre-Move Visit 5/4 - 5/6

My wife and my daughter are going to be coming to NH for a pre-move visit, to look around different areas, and to meet the people behind the screen names. I picked these dates on purpose as I know the Tap Room Tuesday Event is on the 5th. We are trying to figure out if Manchester or Keene would be a better fit for us and to checkout the neighborhoods and see what kind of housing is available. I need just a little help from you (no sacrificing needed other than your time to respond).

Taproom Tuesday is held at "Murphy's" across from the Verizon Center on Elm. Should we get a sitter for our 3 day 2 night visit? or is this a Bar and Grill where my 3 year old would be ok and welcome?

What is a decent hotel in the area?

and Finally who is going to volunteer to convince me to go back to PA on Wednesday? 

So we took "stock of our situation" and my early desire of June was too early, we have some improvements to finish on our 1890's hotel remodel, and once those are done, we are either going to sell it or rent it.... We have set a "goal" date to move on my Wife's B-Day on Nov 10 2009.
