Hey, I'd like to help them, but with identity theft being so common these days, how can I be certain they are on the level?

You can fake those badges so easily.

Well they came today.One woman in a green caravan who drove past 6 no trespassing signs .I met her at my front steps.As she introduced herself and asked if I could answer some questions,she glanced at my sidearm.I said firmly"no" she replied can I ask how many lived here as of April 1st ?I told her the number and she thanked me and got back in her van.I didn't see her gps but I suppose she could have done it from the van. I'm not happy she came past the signs but at least she wasn't unpleasant to deal with.

I think someone could get charge with a crime for aiding a terrorist organization after helping census workers.

I don't want to brake the law by supporting a group that has a history of committing terrorism (the systematic use of terror especially as a means of coercion), which the census workers are being paid by to collect information for...

I probably should have been nicer to the woman,because she'e an unknowing sheep .I was just highly pissed that she would blatantly ignore the no trespassing signs.I wonder if I will get a follow up visit.

FYI, rumor has it that some census workers in NH may be reporting people they speak with for drug violations.

Why would they stop at drugs?
Census workers have to be seeing all kinds of violations, both civil and criminal.
I'm wondering how many bounty hunters, undercover cops and code enforcers are taking census jobs.

A census job would also give home invaders, rapists and killers an opportunity to scope out potential victims.

There are about 635,000 U.S. Census workers currently going door to door counting Americans who did not return their surveys. They will carry white badges with blue writing. The badges do not have photos. Census workers should also be carrying black canvas shoulder bags and brochures printed in 51 languages. If asked, the census takers are supposed to give you a supervisor's number to call.

Great.  Except he was an official Census worker, so how does information on spotting impostors help?

And what does having you call a number do, anyway, other than demonstrate that the individual has an accomplice who can answer a phone?

Well, the second visit from the census people just happened. A green van again but a different woman.I told her that someone had already been there ,she replied I just want to verify some information.I said firmly "no I want you to leave".She smiled and said "ok" and got in the vans passenger side  it backed up ,turned around and left. How many times do these people come ?

She was very nice, but will they come back? I'm waiting for another visit so that I can again tell them to leave my posted property. The no trespassing signs don't phase them at all.

Try one that says "if you are human and pass this sign be prepared to die.  I shoot any human that comes down this driveway.  Further down the driveway make one that says "I mean it"

but of course, don't do anything. . .I'm just curious if they had enough gonads to keep going.
