Anarcho-Jesse arrested

It's not like they buried an extension cord 2" under the surface.  If Jesse could have damaged the electrical lines with a hand tool the City of Keene would be in serious violation of it's own codes.
Under ground electrical lines are supposed to housed in material that burrowing animals should not be able to damage.

Water pipes have to be 4' under the surface or else they will winter freeze and bust.

Planting lead with a rifle is over kill... a revolver using 22 shorts is completely adequate.

What Jesse was doing was tilling the soil... not excavating.

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
When you garden on
the common in Keene
They arrest you.

so Jesse .... since the city employee informed you that it is "very easy" to change the ordinances ... you could just have  nick make another nice video on how the very easy process works
when the judge tries to fine you ... you can say that you are deep in the multiyear very easy process of changing the laws
maybe you should ask for $5000 funding for the lawyers you might need to go through the very easy system

why did he have a rifle to dig a trench?

He claims it was 4 gophers.  ;D
I saw that he had added a flashlight and scope to the rifle so he could be like Carl the gardener on caddy shack

Quote from: Radical and Stuff on April 11, 2009, 09:49 PM NHFTKeene is the only place where there are freestaters who act like how some of the gay rights activists acted in San Fransisco back in the day.

I'm not sure how they acted in S.F. back in the day, but I would like to point out how very gay S.F. is now so just imagine the climate of Keene in another 10 or 20 years as this becomes known as the place to move to if you're a voluntaryist!  >:D

Kat Kanning

That's a neat thought :)  It also worked in VT, moving socialists there.

how many signatures did the hot dog guy mentioned in the vid by the kop need?

maybe it would be worth getting signatures to be able to plant on the "commons" right?

oh and maybe we can put in a call to dig safe as suggested too and have them mark an area as "safe to dig" and then try again?

If its truly common property, and not collective (the Keene Collective... wow)... Jesse did nothing wrong.
He was not infringing on the right of other owners' use and enjoyment.

Another reason why NH is better than most places. Open carry without a permit is legal in PA but I could assure you that if I had a gun and exercised my right, I would be harassed by the cops immediately.

You can get that treatment in Manch and Concord, from what I hear.

It seems that the cops and freestaters in Keene have a fairly close relationship, and the cops attempt to keep violence to a minimum. Is this the case elsewhere in NH, or is this unique to Keene?

It might be unique to Keene.  Keene is the only place where there are freestaters who act like how some of the gay rights activists acted in San Fransisco back in the day.  Outside of Keene, people who moved to NH as part of the FSP don't act in your face about it.  The cops in Keene are very aware that hardcore vocal anarchist FSP folks moved Keene and are proud of it.

Just trying to understand your last comment "and proud off it."  I can't seem to figure out exactly what you mean, could you explain more?  thanks.

Maybe I'm just naive but....doesn't what the officer say about there being electrical or pipes or whatever under that ground make sense? Seems to me that if you're going to be digging up somewhere you should be absolutely certain you're not sticking your metal tools into electrical wires.

I didn't hear an officer say that.  However, if an officer really did say that I would question his judgment on the most basic things for at least a few months.  There is no way important wires are buried 2-3 inches below the surface there.  Maybe 18-24 inches down - now that makes sense.

Yeah Keith, the Officer did mention it and even ask Jesse if he called but it's a bogus argument.

I'm going to save you the trouble and just go lynch myself after posting this....but I have to say that, all things considered, the message most people will get from this is that liberty activists are "cooks"...that is to say, not the kind who make food.

:campfire:
I couldn't find a "lynching myself" emote, so here I am setting myself on fire.

...dont hurt me *cower*

I wouldn't hang yourself over a Non Issue.  No One is going to hit a Power line, digging with a hoe, a few inches down.  It's absurd.  And there's plenty of room for the roots to grow.

It's just one more example of "what would we do if the Government wasn't there to protect us?"   Well, one thing's for sure, we wouldn't have to live in fear that this group may one day decide they need to ruin our lives, for their own financial gain.

But of course they really don't mean to hurt anyone, as everyone knows...they're just doing their job.
