Good use for strawberry preserves

The first of the rhubarb is in down here. I was looking for something to do with it and wandered out into the pantry. There were a few jars left of the strawberry preserves I put up last year, so I thought I would try combining that with the rhubarb. I melted the preserves in a little bit of water in a saucepan, then added the cut up rhubarb. I cooked that down for a bit until the rhubarb broke down. I had to add a pinch of sugar to it since it was still a little too tart, but all in all it turned out pretty good. I don't mind "wasting" the jar of preserves since the strawberries are already in bloom here and we will have fresh berries soon. As soon as it cools we are going to try it over some ice cream.
