sticky situation for a libertarian.

if you want to wait until they attack you, to "attack them back". thats ok i guess...

if you want to be a pacifist you will surely be dead, because people like these obviously only have one goal and will not compromise.

killing these people before they kill us is not torture, and is not wrong morally or otherwise. torturing people is wrong... ok... we get that.

No matter what you do these people will not respect you back, so the only option is to kill or be killed. i prefer to kill

They are human to, not animals. "They" (grouping them all together is not fair BTW) have a full range of human emotions just like us. If you treat them kindly (or maybe just stop killing them) they will stop harming you... they way I see it they think of you EXACTLY as you think of them, someone needs to break this self-perpetuating cycle of hate and killing.

how is it out there in fantasy land?

funny how you accuse me of treating them like animals, but its their religion that puts "infidels" on the same level as animals ripe for slaughter.

how could they think i'm exactly like them? i'm not trying to kill them. terrorists are people working on a personal level trying to kill me, they are not representing some evil government. these are people... trying to kill me. i am not trying to kill them.

You want to see a disturbing image or two? Go and look up, if you have the guts, "Iraqi Children Mamed by Bombs" - that could fill an afternoon, nay...a solid month, or two or more...of your time. Do you wonder why it is, that our dear country has so many enemies? We kill, indiscriminently.(sp). We don't care who we hit, who we kill...how many little kids (who already pulled the short straw in being BORN in some of these locations) are going to end up without the hands, feet, mobility that they will NEED to earn a living in these places where "a living" isn't coming easy these days.

do those pictures specify whether the children were maimed by US bombs or terrorist bombs? the majority are killed by their own people.

Don't forget about drone attacks that kill and maim civilians (including children!) of whom are already suffering immensely under their oppressors, so add some more oppression devised by a powerful country who gave the Taliban the weapons in the first place to fight Russia.
I have been looking into three countries Costa Rica, Sweden, and Denmark. I wish I was a rich Expat so I could live in a country without a military, so I can say indeed the blood of innocents is not on my hands.
Kudos to anti torture supporters!, you have given me the hope to think that not all Americans have turned into the vile and vulgar sycophants of the Bush CIA and Reagan globalization.
And as a side note I am glad that Humphrey Bulgart got the part, because I would have never watched Casablanca if Reagan had gotten it instead...that's a good political movie for it's era represents the underground in a way, I just watched it for the first time so I babble...

The US government has been over in the middle east meddling in their affairs for a long time, all they do is exaggerate what really goes down a bit, throw in a little propaganda and then they believe you are a legitimate threat to them and their way of life. They feel like they are justified in killing you before you kill them. If "we" (the US) quit meddling in their affairs it would be a lot harder for them to justify killing us and violence would most assuredly deescalate; to say otherwise is to call them something less then human.

i agree we shouldn't meddle in their affairs.

its unfortunate that technology has advanced so much that we have to worry about the rest of the world. if we didn't confront communism around the globe during the cold war, its pretty likely that we would've had another world war.

these things are very very complicated, and being isolationist hasn't worked ever. millions and millions and millions of people died during WWII. do you think if the US and Britain would've did some iraq style war against hitler we would've had WWII? would millions of people have still been alive?

as a libertarian i do not believe in being aggressive or imperialist, and that congress should declare war... but war is not always wrong.

you immediately lose all credibility when you flat out say "war is wrong" because no matter how pacifist you are... there are people who are the exact opposite.

maybe you could die and hold the moral low ground (6 feet under)

you're extremely misguided.

lincoln was NO FRIEND of freedom, and was aggressive toward the south when they seceded.

people like you really really piss me off, if you had half a fucking clue what you're talking about someone might take you seriously sometime. sweden has tons and tons of blood on its hands. denmark was saved by allied war efforts.

QuoteWhen hostilities began on 1 September 1939, the fate of Sweden was unclear. Eventually, even though 20 nations had held a policy of neutrality in September 1939, only eight European nations were capable of officially sustaining this alledged policy of neutrality, and not be drawn into armed conflict throughout the entire war. (Sweden along with Ireland, Portugal, Spain, Andorra, Liechtenstein, Vatican City and Switzerland).

Sweden owed this maintenance of official neutrality to its geopolitical location in the Scandinavian Peninsula, its long-held neutral stance in international relations, a dedicated military build-up after 1942, luck and successfull real-political manouvering in the unpredictable course of events.

A few of the concessions, and sometimes embreachments of the nations neutrality, the Swedish government made in favour of both the Nazis and the Western Allies were:

    * Allowing the Wehrmacht to use Swedish railways to transport the 163rd Infantry Division "Division Engelbrecht", along with war material freight, i.e., howitzers, tanks and anti-aircraft weapons and associated ammunition, from Norway to Finland
    * Transiting soldiers on leave between Norway and Germany - The so called permitenttrafik.
    * Training "Police Forces" for use in Denmark and Norway, after the Nazi defeat.[1]
    * Producing and exporting weapons to both the Axis and the Allied powers.[citation needed]

Throughout the war, the swedish policy favoured the side currently having the upper hand, but were always opposing Soviet interests.

Please don't watch this if you can't stomach extreme violence...but you may want to pass it on to those who think it's terrible to authorize water boarding on prisoners that are known terrorists. Also, you may not want such visuals in your mind. It is the slow decapitation of people by Muslim terrorists, over and over again. As far as I'm concerned we should show no mercy, they laugh at us for such silly practices and then commit heinous murders as shown on this film. Please, pray before you watch this terrible film.

Why is this video so horrible because it's Muslim terrorists decapitating people?  What if it was a video of your definition of "we" decapitating Muslim terrorists, would that make it okay and not horrible?   Please don't include me in your "we" should show "them" no mercy, I want no part of what you think we and them stand for, it's disgusting!

This shouldn't happen no matter who is doing it, it's wrong!  Your "us" has commited henious murders also and again I state that I don't want to be included in your definition of "us" either.  So it's okay if "us" or "we" waterboard human beings?  Can't you see that's it is all wrong?

I just don't get this way of thinking and I'm happy to say that!

akmisrmaadi

no mulsims have been decapitated while being held by the US ever.

the mulsims who have been decapitated have been on the battlefield. if you can't see the difference...  :D
