I'm very glad he has a trial date.

That said, as Kat mentioned in another thread, it will be a total kangaroo court. I doubt they will even let Sam speak. The judge will declare him guilty of something or another, then the sentence will be time served, and they will want him to go away.

If my experience with other trials is any indicator, they'll let him speak. He'll present a rock solid case going far beyond showing a reasonable doubt about his supposed guilt. They'll then ignore all of it and find him guilty anyway, knowing full well there's not a damn thing that we can do about it. And also based on my prior experience in these trials, you're probably right about how they'll find him guilty for EXACTLY the time served, conveniently.

Let's hope so.

You're right, Dale, I wasn't thinking. They will give Sam the chance to speak and while Sam is speaking, odds are the judge and lawyers will not be listening one bit. Once Sam is done, they will continue as if he hasn't said a word. Hopefully, there will be some in the audience that will listen and hear Sam and perhaps be awakened a slight bit about their own situation.

In the least it should make a decent YouTube video.

What if they sentenced him to less days than the actual time served?  Would they have to pay HIM $50/day for doing too much time?  ;)

Because the state is so keen on making everyone follow their rules I am sure they will pay Sam D in accordance to their constitution.
Article I, Section 10: "No State shall... make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts".

I am sure they will go out of their way to follow their laws.  ::)

I wrote up a blog post about this and submitted it to Fark.com. It just made the front page and looks like it will be getting thousands of hits. Pretty cool.

That's not in the NH Constitution.
Nor is the NH Legislature declaring a legal tender... its openly using the federal one.

They won't...
But he may have civil suit depending on the particulars.
