Question for a friend: Is there any minister in the Shire who will perform a marriage sans state license?

thinkliberty

Why do you need a minister to marry you, in a stateless marriage?

What is your definition of a minister?

try reverend flashback... the nudest reverend

Babiarz as Justice of the Peace?  Russell as Cardinal of the Shire?   Are you getting married?

I'm interested in this stuff too.  I plan on getting hitched to Jaime in the next couple of years (if she says yes hehe. . . oh wait I really do hope she says yes.)

she's paying for the license, she's the one that wants it.  lol

There are several.  Dr. Templeman, in Nashua, is one.  He's an Episcopal minister, but he was quite willing to use the ceremony that my wife and I wrote, ourselves.

As a "pro," though, he has the voice and bearing to carry off a wedding well.

Good questions, but I'm just trying to help out a friend. There is, of course, no need for a minister/pastor/priest/reverend or any other church 'official' to start a family.

Well, knowing my friend, she'll probably want something more formal, religious.

Not that I know of.

What the Hell is more religious than a freekin Cardinal?

I'm a Reverend in the Universal Life Church cuz the internet says so.  So by the power vested in me by electrons I pronounce you whatever you want to be pronounced. Amen. Let's eat.

Heh, quite a few of us are ULC reverends. That's where ReverendRyan's screen name comes from, for one.

What happens if a couple gets their government paperwork/license, but never solemnizes the contract is it still valid?
