As many of you know, I accidentally rolled my trike this Sunday, and broke some parts, including the frame.  The frame should be welded back together today or tomorrow, and I should be back to riding it within a few hours of the repair.
This Thursday I'm planning to cycle my recumbent trike with my trailer at least halfway across the state.  If you live along my route, and will be home then, I would like to make some stops along the way to get some cold water, and maybe a bite to eat.  Right now, my plan is to leave Somersworth early Thursday morning and take Route 9 to 155 to 125 to 27 to 3 into Manchester, then W Bridge St. to McGregor St. to Main St. to Erie St. to Boynton St. to Route 101 West.  My goal is to cycle at least to the Milford, NH area and spend the night.  Friday morning I will be leaving before 7am because I'm planning to ride with Jack to SolarFest, and he has to leave Milford by 7am to get there on time.  If I get to Milford early enough, and feel up to it, I will probably try to ride the rest of the way to Keene.  If you live in Milford or Keene or somewhere in between, and would be willing to let me use your shower Thursday night and spend the night, please let me know.  If I can wash my clothes (probably just the shorts, T-shirt and socks that I wore that day) wherever I spend the night, that would be helpful, because then I wouldn't have to bring as many changes of clothes with me.

My route and plans are subject to change, but I'm pretty sure I'll be following through with the ride.  After SolarFest, I may ride my recumbent trike from VT to ME, but I don't know for sure yet.

Proposed route on google maps.
That's almost the same route I figured out.  The main difference is that the route I chose doesn't go on the Spaulding Turnpike (route 16).  I figured out a route that is 0.8 miles shorter than that one.

Here's my tentative route.

Anyone seen or heard from Tim? He's due in Milford at some point, but just trying to figure out when to expect him...

I learned a lesson today: don't rely on google maps.  Sometimes they're not correct.  I got lost twice.  The first time, I followed Google maps' directions and rode for a ways on a road that had no street signs to identify it.  After several miles, I realized that the next turn wasn't there, so I stopped at the next house that appeared to be occupied and asked for directions.  I had to go back the way I came because there was no other way to get where I was going unless I continued down the road to Nashua to cross the river, but that would have taken longer.  I made it back up to Manchester and continued on my way.  The next time I got lost was in Milford, and google maps told me to turn right at a road that apparently wasn't there.  When I felt that I had gone too far, I stopped at a house and asked for directions.  He told me that I had to go back the way I came, and he gave me good directions to my destination.  In the end, according to my odometer, I rode just over 82 miles today, in just over 12 hours.  I made a bunch of stops to eat, drink, converse with others and try to get online.  My legs and glutes are a little sore, but I'm OK.

Get a copy of the NH Atlas & Gazetteer from Lloyd. If nothing else, it gives you good topo, so you can at least figure out where the heck you are.

I drive for a living . So google maps is a blessing but they are not perfect .

I make sure to use the "hybrid' option and satellite images .. the satellite pic will show any ghost roads and there are more than a few of those  .

I've got one Tim can have for free if he can get here or someone can get it to him.

you could ask a bunch of us if the directions make sense before you get on your trike ... i bet we could have helped you
