I think it's one thing to prepare for what is probably going to be economic armageddon. It doesn't have to come to that, but the powers that be seem intent on delivering it. It's the people that aren't preparing and are apathetic to these problems that concern me.

That said, I wouldn't freak out. Embrace it ;D

Seriously, the policies being imposed on us are doing more to pave the way for liberty in our lifetime than they are impeding it. The sooner the system breaks completely, the better.

Ten years ago there wasn't much mainstream attention given to secessionist movements, ending the federal reserve/debt-based monetary system, tax protests or federal takeovers of private industry. I'd say the liberty movement is catching on.

It will be a painful crash when we do actually crash but there clearly is no plan in place by those who control us to prevent it from happening. Why not hurry up and get it over with?

The more they try to help, the more they help our cause. It won't be a pleasant ride getting to the tipping point, but I think one will come. If I were a gambling man I'd bet the tipping point will be door-to-door gun confiscation on a nationwide scale, the hyperinflation that some are warning is coming, martial law, or some combination.

As long as the liberty movement continues to promote peaceful non-cooperation and civil disobedience and we lead by example, I can only see liberty in our lifetime as the final outcome. At least for us in New Hampshire, but we should be able to effectively demonstrate a successful blue print for people in other parts of the country to follow.

your far from the only one !the problem i keep finding is the further i keep trying to get from big government the closer they push themselves to me. with forced insurance, registrations for vehicles and animals, land taxes and  a tax every fucking time i leave my 24 acres i share with the town ,then theirs the class 6 road and DES, owe what fun it is. A gerden and wood are great til they come and try to tax you for that plus land taxes. The mob never rests.

This is what's freaking me out

When you have a dumbed-down population indoctrinated in government schools, it's no wonder most people don't recognize the historical parallels.

We've come a long way from the day when de Tocqueville reported with praise that even the most humble frontier cabin in America could host an informed debate on important political matters.

Actually this one isn't even as bad as NH had in '82.
Heck, its not even as bad as the late 80's/early 90's when you could open the Union Leader an flip through pages of foreclosures.

I don't think they are talking about just the economy.

John Edward Mercier

The economy usually effects how tightly the government firms its grip.
Like I feel certain that Cap and Trade is much more about Tax and Spend than any real concern about CO2 levels...
And much of the rest it ties in. Bad economies created the major global revoluntions.

Me either, but I do think the economic issues are being used to justify the power grab.

Without trying to sound like it's some kind of conspiracy, does it seem like this all may be happening as a test to see just how much they can get away with?

Pat McCotter

They know they cannot get away with as much as they want so they are trying to get as much as they can as fast as they can.

I am also in this category, and I think that what you're doing is the first and best step to take (preparing).  The way that I think of it, that helps me not completely freak out, is that you will probably need a good supply of things like food, water, metal monies, and some sort of way to defend those investments (guns), b/c if there is a crash, it may be a very chaotic time initially.  But, if you are able to make it through the initial chaos, I think that market demand for services (out of chaos comes order, or something along those lines) will bring society back to a functional point.  Alot of people will say things like we will devolve into tribal or nomadic fighting enclaves, but that doesn't make sense to me.  I like having things like running water and heat, and grocery stores.  I try to concentrate on thinking of the ways people will come up with to come out of the chaos, instead of the chaos.  But, as I said, you should prepare to take care of and defend yourself/family for a period of time in between.  A good blog about this stuff is thesurvivalistblog.blogspot.com , but there is some of the nonsensical theories of going back to caveman like circumstances you will have to weed through.  there are great ideas and plans for what to do to prepare.

Lots of different skills will be in high demand in the event of an economic collapse. Making beer, wine or cider are always good things to know how to do.

A few good stills can go a long way in the event of a collapse.

I'm not worried about just an economic collapse.  My fear is that the tipping point will occur, but there will be no liberty afterwards.  They are rushing bills through without passing them because they know that if there is debate and discussion of the content's of the bills, there is no way people would support them.  I would have to believe that in 2010, things will swing a little towards the right, but untill then, the socialists in washington will stuff as many bills onto obamas desk as possible, and these things will never go away once established.  Obama isn't stupid, he knows exactly what he's doing with tax and cap and nationalizing health care. I think if there is any kind of secession movement that it will be put down swiftly and violently by the troops that were established by bush for just that purpose.

Hey guys. I was just thinking, how exciting our government is moving in such a rapid pace towards total control.   I can't wait til we're brainwashed as fuck, or maybe they'll kill all of us and brainwash the children.   That'd be awesome.  I've never been part of a genocide, and how great would it to be dying alongside blacks, asians, jews and atheists.   I think it's good because we'll all be treated equal and we'll get to die together.  It's our fault for not understanding the greatness that is our leader.   Can you guys please go along with it?  I'm going to go to my closest FEMA camp in September and volunteer.  I have security experience, and maybe they can put me to use.    If you have children, please don't educate them.  It's important that they learn the truth, and there is a reason they plan on killing every single one of you.  It's because you guys aren't true patriots.  Oceania needs people who are loyal, and you guys talk too much.
