OH come on guys. Joey's harmless.

I happen to agree with him that homosexuality is an immoral lifestyle. And I also agree that God can change peoples hearts and minds. "HE changed my 'want-to'"

Many people who are involved in a homosexual lifestyle really don't want to be in it, but it's something they've gotten addicted to. Just like some people get addicted to porn, or other sexual addictions.

A good point was made that maybe he DIDN'T change his desire but just his actions.

Well so what? Many times sin is something that desireful. A rapest will tell you that it felt good and he desired to rape at the time -- but nobody hear would agree that it would be a moral thing to do just because he desired it and it felt good.

Now fortunitly libertarianism is only about that subset of morality -- actually violating another individual's person or property -- that government should be involved with defending against, so this is really a non-issue for this forum.

As for me, I follow the example of Jesus. Instead of stoning and locking up prostitutes, he sat with them, and talked with them, and genuinely cared about them, and showed them a better way of life.

Ian's right. There are a lot of scam artist preachers out there. That doesn't mean all of them are.

Anyway, I just wish this person Joey's campaining for didn't think it was OK to endorse a secular state in the punishment of 'moral' "crimes." Seems to me that as a Christian asking the state to punish people instead of letting God do it is blastphemy. The message of the New Testament is not one of vengence and punishment. Jesus shead his blood to purify us as the perfect sacrafise so we don't need to do that anymore.  The message of the new testament is one of love and compassion for your fellow brother. Especially compassion and love for stumbling sinners needing help off the path to self destruction.

Joey supports a candidate that advocates:

Execution for crime of adultery
Execution for crime of homosexual acts
Execution for crime of deadly negligence, like DWI.

I doubt that anyone like this would get elected, but if he did. He'll be thanking his campaign manager for the help.

Hey, I was just reporting what happened. I wasn't there, so I all I know is what I've reported.

But I'm for free will too. I'm the last person who would advocate a government response to private citizens' behavior.

Seriously.

You are so loving and caring.  Telling people how to think and act and whom they should love should get you all the godly friends.

Comparing certian people who happen to love other people than your jebus book says is ok to rapists just shows me that your religious small-mindedness has your brain all twisted up and filled with hate.  Just because you call it love for your fellow man and "tolerance" and non-agression doesn't make it any less hatefull.

If you or  your god tries to change my heart and mind or my WANT-TO I'll kick them in the Jimmy.

Think whatever you like but I feel you are just stupid for making comments like this.  From some of the comments I read earlier from you I was almost about to change my opinion about how not all religous whackjobs are not the same.  Now I have to seriously re-think that.

I apologize to any other religious whack-jobs on the list who would like to distance themselves from stupid, hateful, small-minded shit like what Tracy said above.

What about religious non-whack jobs?

Ever heard the lyrics? "What will people do when they find out you're a Jesus Freak?" .... I just found out .... a kick in the jimmy. ;)

I don't know why you post stuff like this here, Joey ..... do you like these kinds of conversations?

Michael Fisher

I'm glad Joey shows us his true nature.

DC Talk rocks. I liked the Gotee Bros. CD too, but it was a little.... "experimental" for some tastes.

What was the spoken lead-in on one of those tracks? "What if I stumble", maybe? "The greatest threat to Christianity in the world today are those who claim Jesus with their lips, then deny him with their lives. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable." Or something like that.

Edit: Found it! "The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, then walk out the door and deny him by their lifestyle. That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable."
