I assume he's a member of LEAP?

I see a lot of "Patriot" rhetoric in that article and get the general idea that he's got a problem with the increased violence. That's all well and good, but before I'll even come close to claiming to like a cop, they must recognize the inherent violence in the basic function of their job...

Yeah... I'm biased.

in your opinion is it right to use violence to stop violence. especially against someone who is "innocent"

not necessarily by the state, but more by individuals.

I have no problem with violence per se, but aggression. If a two men decide to duel, that's violence, but it's not AGGRESSION. Using violence to stop that, YES, I have a problem with.

Putting a hole in someone trying to rape my wife, I have no problem with. Since she does not concent, that violence is also AGGRESSION.

Now, to your question, if someone is using VIOLENCE without consent, they are AGGRESSING, and therefore, not innocent.

That said, just because I think violence against aggression is ETHICAL, it's not always a good idea. I'm not really interested in standing on the ethical highground for a few seconds before an unethical jackboot extinguishes my life.

Did I cover all the permutations of your question?

The answer is written on back of that 7-sided triangle on your desk.
