I abandoned Link half way through the fire temple to watch this video... Saw the whole thing, I would say nearly half of the footage I have seen before, it was a disgusting watch. Thanks for sharing, now I dare to say "What should we do?"

Shine a light on the problem. More cameras. More media coverage. More peacefully disobeying arbitrary orders until there is more accountability and transparency about what is going on. The long-term goal, of course, is to end their monopoly. That's the only thing that can ever truly make them accountable, but in the meantime we need to be affecting a culture shift within the actual departments locally.

Disgusting but need to see.

Oh my gosh, I feel sick in my stomach!  Your right this video is disgusting but needs to be seen around the entire world but then what?
Dale mentioned more videos and media coverage which is good, but hasn't there been enough already?
What can be done to stop this now?
I only made it 15 minutes into the video and that was enough for me, I feel so sick.

Thanks, I'll check out the site.  :) I hope it gives suggestions to end this crap.

well you should go there to see more videos, not for any advice because i don't think you would like the overall tone of the site which is violent towards the state and police.

Ogre

I watched the whole video. Indeed, its horribly disgusting. The numerous police actually arresting people for simply ASKING is there was a form to report complaints was incredible.

As for what can be done? No idea -- other than spreading the word that calling the police is never a good idea. That doesn't slow the thugs down, but it might make people safer.

I'm thoroughly convinced that this country can't be saved by fixing the system. Only starting over has a chance.

Giggan

Thanks for the link, that was quite a video. Myspace's crappy loading cut out the last few minutes so I'll have to try again another time. I may shoot the host of the vid a message and suggest that this be thrown on youtube, it would receive exponentially more views that way.

I just finished this MSNBC video, which was linked to from the first video:

It has an overall feel of "despite all that, the police are still heroes". Still, it doesn't pull any punches (pardon the pun) about cases that show abuse by police.

Ick. That seems at best the rare exception rather than the rule.
