National guard may be called in to a county in Alabama

Consider this article.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090804/ap_on_re_us/us_alabama_county_crisis_1

It's about how the national guard may be called to "help" a county in Alabama.

Here's a possible scenario.  People getting more upset with the government, may start to get restless.  Military "resources" then get diverted to those localities.  Meanwhile people in New Hampshire, where governments have gotten along on much less, stay calm.  With military "resources" diverted to other localities (not to mention Afghanistan, Pakistan, etc.) there's nothing left for peaceful resistance in New Hampshire.

Or we could have ten to twenty years of national guard troops being called into random localities at random times, or fear thereof.

I think the article makes it clear that eventually the state will collapse under it's own weight.  It's essential that smart people start to think about the order that will come next.

Well they sure are making a big deal out of it... I watched a documentary not long ago (I think it was Fahrenheit 911 actually) where a county had a shortage of police officers... Literally one guy to patrol an entire national park. I think everything will be fine.

As long as armed troops don't occupy the street, I agree with you.

I think the Sheriff is just trying to push for his budget by using scare tactics...

I thought of saying that myself... I think the problem is he is scared to let the public see just how much crime there inst in Birmingham. I can think of 2 Mobile towns of the top of my head that are worse than Birmingham's entire county.

It's good to use good grammar.  If you are trying to persuade someone who uses bad grammar is not as effective as those that do.

I myself make mistakes in grammar, but I try to improve.  It's slow, much of my grammar was taught to me in public school.

Thanks Pat,

I should make this short so that I don't have any more grammar errors.
