I Need An American

Hi,
I don't post much but am wondering if I can enter into a voluntary transaction with a trustworthy person on this board, we can work out your compensation (silver maple leafs?) which I'll send to you before you send what I want to me.
I live up in Canuckistan and in order to protect Canadian "culture," the thugs ban certain things from the US as they may contaminate and destroy us. I want a Kindle from Amazon (I know they are not very free market when they take back books, but that ain't what I want it for) as I read lots of PDF's and hate using a laptop. There are also some clothing and computer items that Amazon US will not ship to Canada. I want to place an Amazon order have it shipped to you, then you ship it to me. I'll be paying for everything, I just need a US address for it to go to. For a budding entrepreneur this is a possible business opportunity, lots of Canadians want stuff from the US that our thugs won't allow (I'm not talking about gun running), examine the difference between Amazon US and Amazon Canada, most of that difference is due to Canadian content and cultural protection laws. If there is any Canadian contraband (Alberta beef) you want, let me know, I can see this stuff taking off if the respective governments go on the buy American/Canadian rants and jack up tariffs.

I want to order a Kindle and accessories, some ice climbing clothing and some flash memory.
I want to ship it to you and have you ship it to me
I'll compensate you

So this is illegal? What happens if it gets caught by Customs?

leetninja

From the items you mention, it isnt actually illegal so you have your American right here.

dalebert

Yeah, I seriously doubt it's illegal. It's not like those are contraband items. They just can't be sold by distributors up there. It's more of a commercial ban than a contraband or ban on mailing certain things.

*DISCLAIMER: I am not a lawyer. This is lay opinion.

leetninja

anyhow, if you need an American with a valid address and someone available on specified dates at the home, just let me know.  I'm around and have no problem helping you with this.

yamnuska

None of the stuff is illegal, it's just impossible to get in Canada because all the companies up here use the government to bring in rules and regulations (what's new), stuff like Canadian content laws etc. to protect us from evil American culture. Anyways thanks to those who offered help, I decided not to get a Kindle since lots of other digital redears are coming out in early 2010, ones I think will kick the daylights out of Kindle, plus the whole thing of Amazon taking back/erasing customers copies of 1984, what a bunch of facists.

Kindle uses a wireless connection to download books and publications.  They aren't selling Kindles in foreign countries yet because they have't signed a wireless contract with any international wireless providers.

yamnuska

Amazon is selling the Kindle to foerigners now, not the kindle DX though, and not to Canadians, our wireless providers don't really know what a customer is. Brits can buy the Kindle but they pay a special rate for wireless downloads, would end up costing them more than buying the book in print, what a joke. I want an e-reader for PDF's and Word documents, I don't give a toss about e-books, i still like the printied ones. I also have a problem paying for an e-book if I already have a printed copy, I'd be more inclined to go to a torrent site.

I need an American, too! 20 something, attractive, heiress, with a bucket of Viagra. Come to think of it....she doesn't have to be American.
