What type (if any) of education etc does one need to run/ become a county sheriff?

You ever deal with police?  I've never met one that blew my mind with intelligence.
Just sayin.

Im down to be a shriffff deputdyy.  :P

We's gonna get free moon shineeeeeeee

hilarious!  nice one. :)

This would be the best time to get freedom minded people in sheriff positions. You could restrict the damn feds from trying to force vaccines and stop them from blocking roads, etc if martial is enacted. The problems one would face would be that too many sheeple would beg form fed "assistance." ( and you'd be found with a rope around your neck).

One would have to have a massive amount of educational seminars to enlightened people and spark ideas and actions to take this county back.

How interesting, some of us were discussing this on FB about a week ago.
RSA 655 http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/rsa/html/LXIII/655/ was what I found about how to go about running for Sheriff.

I was gonna try for Hillsborough. I bought a giant cowboy hat. And my slogan was going to be "There's a new sheriff in town."

I think you have an awesome idea there...

Getting all excited about the fantasy possiblities of how you would change the world if elected... just that fantasy. But, running a satire campaign gives license to all kinds of fun to be had. I would help out. :)  8)

I figure I have an actual chance of winning the election.  My family is pretty well known in the area, I can do some epic campaigning when the time comes, I am generally a "good" person, no criminal history, no convictions, no skeletons in the closet, and most importantly I won't put up with BS.

If I don't win, at least it will be fun to try right?

Rockingham County is pretty large.

Rock and Hill co .... need new sheriffs :)

And what if I wasn't kidding?

Tom Sawyer

Satire is serious kidding. :)

That said, I'm not interested in the earnest "I can win!" candidate. Making a statement, getting attention for your beliefs, having fun and tearing down the political process interest me. :)

Lloyd Danforth

I'd run for Sheriff of Mineral City if I could.  Then I could help Roy and Dale and Pat round up the bad guys and put them in my jail.

bigmike

I read about a guy who would run for something as an independent in every election his town had. When asked by a reporter why he continues to try when there was no chance he could ever muster enough votes to win his response was that it was the only way he could get the candidates to debate the issues that were important to him.

Go get 'em Leet.

At any rate, a GIANT hat arrived in the mail yesterday, and I'll have to get some pictures.

leetninja

leetninja

if elected do we have to buy revolvers?  i really like my sig ... i guess i could go revolver if i had to ... gives me a reason to buy another pistol :-D

sandm000

Just finished my yard sign design.

That's my idea anyway.
What do you think?

leetninja

wtf first a hat now a sign ... i cant do that crap until I get home from Japan!!!  You just wait til i get back, ill get a hat, a sign, a sheriff pistol, a horse, and ill start riding through town on my new horse with a megaphone campaigning!!!

When is election time anyhow ... the current one was just elected last summer in Rockingham.
