Concord, NH, mayor Jim Bouley is a member of NYC Michael Bloomberg's Mayors Against Illegal Guns. He appears to be the only NH mayor who is a member.

RETRACTED: Concord Mayor Jim Bouley
Submitted by Denis Goddard on Wed, 2009-08-26 11:15.

I posted here yesterday a pretty vicious "hit piece" on Concord Mayor Jim Bouley, based on information posted here by a disarmament organization, "Mayors Against Illegal Guns"

This morning I got a call from Mr. Bouley himself. He was nice, good-natured, and generally just a pleasant guy to talk to -- certainly nicer than I would have been, had the tables been turned! Mr. Bouley thanked me for pointing out the "Mayors Against Illegal Guns". He said he was unaware of the organization, that he we not a member of that organization, and that he certainly had not given them permission to include him on their list of supporters. He informed me that it was his policy not to be involved in any such organizations, and that he had contacted them and asked that they remove his name from their lists.

Jim, I apologize for the blog post. I am sorry this organization used your name without your knowledge, and that I took the word of an anonymous website for truth. You handled a potentially awkward situation with grace and dignity.

I wonder how many other mayors on that list are not aware they are members of that leftist organization ?

Puke

Not too surprising a giant douche organization like that would be doing something so immoral.

A great many, I suspect.  When Bloomberg first announced this organization, and I saw that the mayor of the New Jersey town which I then lived in had had the audacity to sign up in his official capacity, I confronted him on it at a public meeting, and he and his assistants were quite clearly confused and surprised.  They -- both the mayor and his assistant -- asked me to explain what I was talking about, and when I did, made it abundantly clear that they had no knowledge of ever signing up to be on any such list or of participating in such an undertaking.  I mentioned this to Chris Cox (NRA-ILA) a few weeks later, who seemed very interested, but since then  I have seen no evidence of ILA pressing Bloomberg on the matter.

Frankly, I think the list is a hoax which is being used to legitimize just another anti-gun foundation.

I saw it reported that an Ohio mayor had joined, but had no idea what the actual agenda was. Both she and her husband are NRA life members, and she promptly withdrew from MAIG when she found out what it was.

I just got a mailer from the NRA-ILA telling me to contact the mayor and ask him why he is a member of this group.

Mayor Jim Bouley has been removed from the MAIG web site member list.

I'll bet that he joined  ('it must be cool, it's Bloomberg!') and either forgot or never looked into the details.
I'm guessing that bureaucrats in positions of power get all kinds of invitations to all kinds of 'professional bureaucrat' associations.  You never know when there will be a 'free' junket to Vegas or, something.

This reminds me of that state that we all accented too, to govern us. Thank goodness for them; what on earth would we do? Might catch the swine flu or something!  Woo  Hoo!!!  GO STATE!

If the mayor is anti-gun, he sure didn't stop me from getting my concealed carry permit. It took me only 8 days instead of 2 weeks.
