A couple years ago, when I was running for City Council, I checked into buying a 4-5 ft pumpkin to carve a message into........ Would get attention, fur sure. I think there were a couple farms right in Keene that had pumpkins that size available for $50-60. Another issue is what to write, my suggestion is "Live Free or Die NHFREE.COM" with the URL at the bottom. Anthor is-e-u is how to transport it........

This is beginning to get wacky enough for me to take interest.  I have $50, a 6X8 open trailer and a circular saw.  If the farmer can put it on a pallet and we can unload it near a business with a forklift....  hmmm.  Anyone want to see what the inside of 5 ft pumpkin looks like?

Russell Kanning

Interesting ... maybe we could carve it onsite .... or at our house or maynards .... handsaws and shovels :) We could carve an all sides and mark words on there also.

Russell Kanning

Or keep it on your trailer and display it that way ... then you could drive it back home and enjoy it until you push it off the pier at Ft. Trumbull

We are still pondering our options because it is our anniversary. I really don't want to miss it again, though.

Is the festival still on?

Are you kidding? I think they would do it even if the town was flooding. :) The town is abuzz .... they have pumpkin sweatshirts with Keene on them at Walmart.

Russell Kanning

You could come visit for the morning and head home early for the romantic anniversary dinner.

Act like you anniversary is Friday!

For some reason I thought it was this coming Saturday!  Glad I checked! :-\

Jim and I will be there with cash for last-minute pumpkin purchasing.
Hope the festival draws some 200-400 lb specimens.

Russell Kanning

I don't know ... they seem to mostly have quantity. :)

Is that the PatK range?
