I actually do have one inside my motor home -but it is not hooked up to anything (not even the VCR/DVD which is laying around loose).  One of these days after I sell the house I'll have to fix it up so if I'm ever living out of it I could actually watch a rented movie.  My Laptop will do that but the screen is mighty small.  I haven't spent the night (or more than 5 minutes) in that thing in almost a year.

Yeah we have a tiny TV that we watch movies on, but no TV shows. Every once in a while, cable companies call and try and sell to me and seem sorta bewildered when I say I hate TV.

Pat McCotter

I used to be without a TV. At that time I received a call for a survey about TV viewing. I told the kid that I did not have one but he insisted on asking the questions.

My mom says I'm crazy and anti-social for not watching TV.  She seems to think it is not right...

Kat Kanning

It's like public school socialization...for adults.

polyanarch

Yeah, and there must be some message that says to shun people who refuse to plug into TV on a nightly basis.  I think my  mom feels very threatened that I'm not buying into her "lifestyle" of audio-visual cortex chains.

Precisely, Kat. "Approved socialization". Like Kat, I use my TV only for watching an ocassional movie on my VCR/DVD player. I can't even get regular TV, as I have no cable, or antenna, or rabbit ears.  8)

I made sure I can watch DVD's on my laptop.  That way I can watch my Buffy, Alias and Firefly Disks wherever I am. (Laptop goes with me)

I have to have something to hook my Xbox to in order to play gta, and practice guerilla warfare against the national guard. ;)

I have the tv on all the time while I read, go online and even now while listening to Howie Carr, on the Marconi.? ?Much as I love to look at both actresses, I would never watch Buffy or Alias.? If I did, I wouldn't consider my opinion about tv worth much.? Of course, you might just be an opinionated 15 year old. ;D

I wish I were 15 again!

What is the common concensus on what to do if bird flu hits the US and is air-vectored?
1 in 5 dead is the number they are throwing around. Look back at the influenza epidemics of the early 20th century and it is very scarry. People live in bigger cities and closer together today.
This scares me just a little bit here folks.
I am not worried. Isn't the number like 60 dead .... in Asia. They live alot closer together there than in WI or NH. :)
60! I am more concerned with a car accident.

Kat Kanning

Is there any proof that those 60 people died of bird flu?

You have probably met him at Porcfest2005. :)

I am more worried for the poor birds.
