Nah, just kidding. I actually got turned off when a "debate" was suggested. Mildly terrified is a better description. Stefan Molyneux and I have both agreed to have a discussion about civil disobedience which I can only presume will be either available as a podcast or video. Not sure of the details. I don't think there's much that we disagree on but someone seems to have managed to find a subject where we may have some amount of disagreement, the exact degree of which is unclear, and it seems we're going to chat about it.

Details to follow as they become available.

Cool, I'd like to hear/watch that podcast/video.

You could call it Cerebraldome: Two ideas enter one leaves.  (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mad_Max_Beyond_Thunderdome) [that might be too "debate"-ish]

Or

I can't wait!
Of course it would be pretty dull if you just talked about how you agree on everything.  Have any interest in talking about your childhood and parents?  Stef can totaly spin one's head around with his psychological insights into their personal history.  You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll see that you are acting out the character of Tiger Lily that ingrained on you when you were three years old.  Wait, that's my personal history.
'Cause I don't see much debate fodder here.

You'll make Stefan's stuff worth watching, likely.

Dale is entertaining, but that's a lofty goal.

No offense to Stefan fans, but his style self-selects those who are willing to listen to him drone on. He's not unlike Hillary Clinton or Al Gore in that regard.

TackleTheWorld

I'm guessing you haven't been in the loquacious presence of Dale, he self selects a willing audience too.

I don't either. I actually kind of poo-pooed the idea at first for that reason. The subject line is obviously meant to be sarcastic. This could be a very boring chat.

Once again, probably would be kind of boring. I seriously doubt there would be any shocking revelations there. They've already been had. Probably even less room for disagreement than over CD. hehe.

I find him painful to listen to. I've enjoyed some of the stuff he's written, but not much of any of the videos and audio.

Big Chatty Forehead vs The Muffin Man!!!

Is this going to be on FTL or FDR?

Here are some points Stef has made in the past against CD.

  • If you are fighting the beast, you aren't free of the beast.
  • Living free is a state of mind, if you are fighting tyranny because of issues with authority, for example, you are not free.
  • Breaking laws turns most people against the lawbreaker, no matter the issue.
  • We are the pioneers in total freedom, others cannot comprehend it.

Here are some points Stef has made in the past in favor of CD

  • Some day people will not pay taxes.
  • Some day people will laugh at demands for obedience.
  • Everyone is a genius and they DO comprehend total freedom.
