Selecting a campsite that won't be cut through is another option.

Not really.
Rogers has three sites that have what I want on them.  I always rent the one least likely to have people walking through it and least likely to flood if we get heavy rain again.  I camp always camp for full week at Porc Fest so a I like to be comfortable.

It will work out.  There are many sites, a hotel, cabins, other hotels, other campgrounds and even a family in the area that said people could camp on their land.  Change isn't the enemy.  Sometimes it isn't possible to have everything you want.

Change and expanding the options for people to enjoy Porc Fest is great.  Ever year the volunteers pour countless hours into creating one of the greatest pro liberty event ever.  Their is nothing else like Porc Fest anywhere.

If not respecting other people's property and their liberty is a permanent change for Porc Fest I want no part of it.

Last year I was not the only campsite I know to have major problems with people cutting through.  I'm talking about snaking through between tents and cars just a few feet apart not walking on the edge of a large empty field. Friends next to me had a table stolen. The people across from us had their tent lines tripped over so many times their tent was ripped in the middle of the night.  We have had a few minor problems in the past but last year was on a much greater scale.

The campground rules that are part of the rental contract that prohibit walking through occupied camp sites.  All I am asking is people to follow the contract that they agree too when staying at Rogers. Why should I let other people be rude to the point of letting them damage my stuff.  Worse it make me suspicious of the people cutting through.  Are they casing my campsite out.  Do I need to lock up everything I own when not in use?   Are they trying to get at my nephews?  I'm sorry there predators in this world and nothing to prevent them form coming to Porc Fest.

If you are a first time participant considering joining the FSP are hassled, have  your stuff damaged, stolen or creped out by nosy people every where are you going to want to pick up and move across the country to be around  a group of people that treat others like that.  I don't think so.

Maybe the boogie man will show up at the next porcfest. I hear he comes out when it gets dark and there is no night light at rogers camp ground.

The Anarchy Boogie-man showed up once and tried to scare everyone about the chaos that would erupt without an Authoritarian Monopoly form of government to act as nanny, but no one was scared. So we just invited him to play Barbies with us.

I dunno...

I hear that there might be authorities at the next Porcfest. Apparently, it's important to cater to the "liberty-curious" who might not get liberty without supervision. :(

When I saw that Kevin had posted here I assumed that it was to inform us that if we don't pay back Farmers that help us out, we won't get laid.

Rogers has had the local cops drive through the campground routinely every year we have been there.  I would much rather not see them there.   It is the campground not the individuals renting spaces or Porc Fest  that has the cops drive through.  They usually drive through Friday and Saturday from the late afternoon till 11 pm or so.  2009 had the fewest sightings of them that I recall.

So, are the people you're talking about Free Staters, Kate?  If so, why not ostracize any who will not respect your request?  Maybe take their picture if you don't know them?

If they weren't activists, then your odds of not being disturbed should increase this year.  Still, drunks will be drunk.  Stumbling through a campsite is pretty low-interference compared to what they *could* do.  (Puke, break stuff, fight.)

Seems like the best thing to do if you are up and awake would be to help them get through safely and perhaps kindly ask that they not cut through again.  If they come through again, snap their picture and post it.

Strategic campground placement, per Keith's suggestion should help minimize this inconvenience for you.

I will see if things are better this year.
If not I will not go to Porc Fest any more.
I won't help volunteer for it either.

Sovereign Curtis.
I have never claimed to be logical.

My view is from that of someone with quite a few friends in the late 20's to early 40's that have at one time or another complained about not being able to meet a pro liberty single lady.

The young ones in college towns will always find someone to hook up with if they go out and find them.  As you get older this is harder to do.  Not impossible, but most women I have known get pickier with age and start looking for something longer term.

By all means go and meet the locals.  This is something I have been saying for years.  Some porcupines have found great friends and partners here in NH.  Some have even found spouses.

They guys who haven't figured out how to get a date or persuade anyone on the benefits of liberty need to start looking at themselves and see how they can charge their behavior to make their lives better.

As a single male I have always been looking ,when I was looking, with the expectation of long term, even when I was 19-20 years old.  Now I'm 28, and I gave up on that aspect of life.

I'd be content with a job I enjoy, some land, and some activism.

What we really need are more women geeks. We need to make geeky sexy so women will want to be geeky.

This never accrued to me to be an issue since my girlfriends have always been geeky.
These women will figure out that geeks make more money and marry them in their late 20's.
Or maybe it is just my geeky girlfriends who did this.
