In a post state world there is a ?more than a slight chance ?government debt and government backed debt instruments will not be payed  and many ?titles titled by government especially to large corporate abinstee land owners will not be honored, most especially those with a large ?government connection. ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?

Yup, I remember Terry 1956.

You were sort-of one of those georgists if I remember correctly, but at least you didn't use the same tired arguments over and over and you didn't side-step objections like BillG(not Gate) aka GreenBacks AKA Hanster did. you also didn't hijack threads all the time, and you also had other things you worked on besides Georgism (unlike Bill, in which his only political activism consisted of trying to convince people that these land taxes were good and noble, and didn't do anything about the stuff we agreed on). You also didn't believe in the whole redistribution system. You just thought that land taxes were the "most fair," and that if you had to have taxes, they were the proper way to go.

That about right?

That's if I remember you properly.

BTW, if you remember a couple years ago, compaired to now, my spelling is a lot better on these forums then it was back then.  That was one thing both Leopard AKA "Mike the Printer" and Herself commented on, when they came back to the forums after being gone for a long time.

So you'll get better over time too.

LOL, na look back at my posts and under liberty worker and my present name CP Ridge Runner, I never was a Georgist and I'm not now.? ?I guess the best title that would suit my ideas on land is Rothbardian Lockian. I'm just trying to get across to a lot of libertarians that property titles in many cases may be useless in a true libertarian society or in a post state world that might not be altogether libertarian.? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ? ?
? ? ?Actually I think a post state America of a variety of small to medium enclaves and burclaves( libertarian burclaves, socialist, mutualist, neocons, plaeocons, Georgist/Greens ChristianI dentity, Apolitical and a variety of others) is a lot more likely to happen when the central government fails.
My point was at first that if there must be taxes than I much perfered a sales tax, although with a land tax I would come out much, much better. I was and still am worrired about the little old poor widow woman who could not afford the land tax.
Today if all the economic land rent was taxed it would be around 7% of the unimproved land value. I know poor widow women wiith 40 to 100 acres  in my county that would be paying 70,000 dollar plus a year at that rate on an income of 9,000 a year or less.
If there is got to be a property tax I would perfer it be a LVT but either way the property tax needs to allow for a reduction based on a percentage of income if the property owner wants to apply for the reduction.
For example, say a person has farmland worth 500,000 dollars and the  LVT rate is 6% the tax would be 30,000 dollars, but his income is only 60,000 dollars and he can apply for a reduction to 5% of his income, he would pay 3,000 dollars instead of 30,000 dollars.   I bet there is people now in New Hampshire and Maine now paying 20% of their income or more on property tax, its a total shame.
Personally I perfer user fees, a town, or land  claim defense club could sell title gurantees, defense services, and possibly other services in exchange for  a fee on the land rental value, lien notes on the unimproved land value could be offered for those who could not afford the fee or perfered not to pay out the cash every year. The land  claim defense club or the town could take a percentage for operational expense and give the members or adult citizens ( if its a town) an annual dividend.   No resident land owner would be required to  use the title defense service but in many places it probally would be worth it.

Yes but occupation and posseion is nine tents of the law. If someone makes a claim on the land that another is using they have to prove their claim before a jury. As I point out to Bill or the Hankter any debt claim must also be proven in court before a jury if the one in posseion wants a jury hearing.
This is true with land, cars, trucks, boats, TVs, Computers, Easy Chairs, watches or  boar hogs, posseion is nine tents of the law.
